Posted July 31, 200718 yr Kate Nash building Foundations for number one 31 July 2007 - 11:27:49 Kate Nash (pictured), who lost out on reaching number one last week by just 16 sales, could finally make it to the top of the singles chart this Sunday after establishing an early lead over Timberland. Her Fiction/Polydor-issued single Foundations is presently several hundred sales ahead of the Interscope/Polydor single The Way I Are by Timberland featuring Keri Hilson, which beat it to number one, according to early sales reports. Below them Rihanna featuring Jay-Z, Fergie and Enrique Iglesias are looking to make it an all-Universal top five for a third successive week. However, Newton Faulkner, part of Sony BMG’s Ugly Truth imprint, is also challenging for a top-five place with Dream Catch Me, which debuted last Sunday on the chart at 16. At the same time the single’s parent album Hand Built By Robots is poised for a top three debut on the artist albums chart alongside Vertigo/Mercury’s This Is The Life by Amy Macdonald. Both Faulkner and Macdonald were part of the performance line-up at Music Week’s MusicMeetsBrands conference a fortnight ago. Back on the singles chart and Swedish artist Robyn is challenging to score her first UK Top 10 hit since 1998’s Show Me Love with Konichiwa Bitches, which is released on the Universal-affiliated Konichiwa label, set to debut. Meanwhile, Paul Weller and Graham Coxon’s Regal/Parlophone-issued collaboration This Old Town should debut around the Top 20 this Sunday with most of its sales on seven inch. Among the big chart climbers, following the release of a physical format, will be Deltasonic/Columbia’s Coral with Who’s Gonna Find Me and Data/MoS’s Rise Up by Yves Larock. On the albums chart Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts appears poised for a third week at number one with his Syco-issued debut One Chance, while Top 40 mew entries should include Virgin’s Korn with Untitled and Warner’s Prince retrospective Ultimate. =========================== Singles 01 Kate Nash - Foundations (400 copies ahead) 02 Timbaland feat Keri Hilson & DOE - The Way I Are 03 Rihanna feat. July 31, 200718 yr I dont think there will be much movement in either chart but reckon Kate will finally get to number one - And deserved too!
July 31, 200718 yr I hope Kate FINALLY gets #1. Think Robyn, Akon, Cribs, Coral and Dizzee Rascal will be the only new entries to the top 40.
July 31, 200718 yr Judging by Kate Nash's lead on itunes I wouldn't be surprised if she climbed to Number 1, Timberland at 2

July 31, 200718 yr I like when there are 2/3 1 week #1s in a row but its nice to have longer runs at the top. ^_^ Just not another 'Umbrella' please
July 31, 200718 yr Pretty sure Kate will climb to No.1 & I reckon Umbrella will be back up to No.2 with Timbo at No.3!!
July 31, 200718 yr Well Robyn is obviously going to be Top 3! My prediction is: 1. Timbo 2. Robyn 3. Nashy 4. RiRi 14. Amerie
July 31, 200718 yr Robyn's song is 'With Every Heartbeat' Great that Kate is finally going to get #1 - hope she can keep it this week :D
July 31, 200718 yr Robyn is climbing itunes so fast, it'll be Top 3 easily come the end of the week ^_^
July 31, 200718 yr WOO-HOO for Amy MacDonald!! Top3 debut for her album  My copy should come within few days, I can't wait! I see her having a 'KT Tunstall' chart run :P
July 31, 200718 yr I doubt Robyn will be top three tbh, she's doing mightily well though. :o The song's such a grower though. I hope Timbaland can get the #1 spot, but I fear it will be Nashy. Still, at least he had it last week. :D
July 31, 200718 yr when is sean kingston released that will be #1 easily That's a truly hideous song.
