May 28, 200619 yr Natalie Imbruglia they played that shimmering indie-esque tune of hers on the radio the other day, wrong impression, actually better than her new stuff, but probs the wrong direction for her record company who want big hits
May 28, 200619 yr Leann Rimes, javine, lucie silvas, delta goodrem and shakira in the uk!!! Edited May 28, 200619 yr by jack89
May 28, 200619 yr Leann Rimes, javine, lucie silvas, delta goodrem and shakira in the uk!!! You think Shakira with three top 10s is under-rated. OVER-RATED more like.
May 28, 200619 yr i think most people in the pop forum are thinking who the f?ck who did the cannonball single was it belly or throwing muses? that was on e4 the other day. it rocks Neither, it was The Breeders...
May 28, 200619 yr they played that shimmering indie-esque tune of hers on the radio the other day, wrong impression, actually better than her new stuff, but probs the wrong direction for her record company who want big hits I didn't think Wrong Impression sounded anything like indie. :arrr:
May 29, 200619 yr Beverley Knight (highly said as) has got to be mine. "Affirmation" was stunning. My best album of 04. its a shame she doesnt get the success she deserves. :( I have to agree. Affirmation was brilliant.
May 29, 200619 yr Natalie Imbruglia (something didn't quite fall through for her...:( ) Lucie Silvas (never quite got all the recognition she deserves) Delta Goodrem (2nd album did quite badly but in my mind was soo much better than the 1st) Nerina Pallot (shame she's had to release the album again to get herself out there) That's all I can think of right now!
May 30, 200619 yr Natalie Imbruglia (something didn't quite fall through for her...:( ) Lucie Silvas (never quite got all the recognition she deserves) Delta Goodrem (2nd album did quite badly but in my mind was soo much better than the 1st) Nerina Pallot (shame she's had to release the album again to get herself out there) That's all I can think of right now! I never knew that about Nerina.
May 30, 200619 yr I never knew that about Nerina. Nerina first released an album on Polydor in 2001 which got to #82 (selling 10k to date), she released 'Fires' independantly last year and it got signed by a bigger label, and now she's doing fine. :D Edited May 30, 200619 yr by Aly
May 31, 200619 yr How well is Fires doing at the moment? Peaking at #26 this week, selling 42k in total so far. I think it'll become one of the year's biggest sellers by the end of it.
May 31, 200619 yr er....they failed to be any bigger hits because they'd ALREADY been in the charts recorded by Goldfrapp! Stevens' last few singles have been criminal rip-off's of the 'Frapp's 'Strict Machine' and 'Train'. Coming back to this point, I didn't think any of Rachel's singles ripped off Goldfrapp, but play 'Crazy Boys' from her recent album back to back with 'Train', you'll see a very clear resemblance. It's almost identical. :o
June 1, 200619 yr Des'ree She'll never a career again because of 'The Office'. An interesting singer songwriter with an expressive voice. Shame.
June 1, 200619 yr Peaking at #26 this week, selling 42k in total so far. I think it'll become one of the year's biggest sellers by the end of it. Well it's not looking to bright at the moment is it. :arrr: Coming back to this point, I didn't think any of Rachel's singles ripped off Goldfrapp, but play 'Crazy Boys' from her recent album back to back with 'Train', you'll see a very clear resemblance. It's almost identical. :o Some Girls is quite similar to Strict Machine too, there was even a remix called Sweet Dreams My Strict Machine, I really liked that to be honest.
June 1, 200619 yr Well it's not looking to bright at the moment is it. :arrr: Of course it is, 'Fires' is climbing up gradually every week. :D
June 1, 200619 yr Of course it is, 'Fires' is climbing up gradually every week. :D Not very quickly though.... Lene Marlin :( I agree with that one!
