Kingston heads for chart summit

29 August 2007 - 16:29:39

Sean Kingston is on course for the number one spot this week, with his Beautiful Girls (Beluga Heights/Epic) having sold nearly twice as many copies as Kanye West's Stronger (Mercury), according to early sales reports.

Plain White T's, Robyn and Rihanna look set for top five placings, while Elvis and Freaks look set for the highest new entries, with Hound Dog (RCA) and The Creeps (Data) both on course for Top 10 entries.

Elsewhere on the chart, James Blunt and Natalie Imbruglia are climbing towards the cusp of the Top 20, while Scouting For Girls' She's So Lovely (Epic) is on course for a Top 30 placing.

Reverend & The Makers look likely to score a mid-30s placing with He Said He Loved Me (Wall Of Sound), while controversial Elvis Presley track My Baby Left Me, available in the public domain and released on the Memphis Recording Service label, looks set to drop out of the Top 40.

On the albums chart Newton Faulkner looks like to retain the top spot, as Amy Winehouse's Back To Black (Island) is on track for second place.

Super Furry Animals' Hey Venus (Rough Trade) is on course for a Top 10 entry, while in the lower end of the chart, Joe Bonamassa's Sloe Gin (Provogue) is on course to be the only other Top 40 new entry.

Any predictions? :w00t:

I think Natalie Imbruglia will be number 9 ^_^

Worst #01 of the year then. :(

I was hoping Rihanna would be Top 5, but I think she will climb later on in the week as she is about to overtake Gym Class Heroes on iTunes.

Alot of flops this week it seems :o KT Tunstall [seeing as it is her comeback single], Natalie, Athlete and Maroon 5

Good to see Freaks & Rihanna top 10, Elvis shouldn't last in the Top 5 much longer either so hopefully that can make way for Rihanna ^_^

I suppose KT will have a huge selling album though...

Natalie not surprising and Maroon 5 are bloody awful anyway.

I suspect Plain White T's are in the top 5 too.

Oh I wouldn't worry about Natalie at all ^_^ The download only got added to iTunes on Sunday and is already at 59; it's climbing pretty fast so in a couple of days she should be Top 20 in the chart, and I'm hoping for Top 10 come Sunday ^_^
I think Natalie could rise over the week tbh, either that or it will drop out the top 75 :P. I thought KT would be higher but then again she has never had a top 10 single has she?
Not surprised the albums are a no show. Nothing out hardly - bet the sales will be atrocious

'Shut Up And Drive' Mikey, not 'Shut Up And Dance'.

How predictable it is this week :(

Nope she hasnt. "Suddenly I See" peaked at 12, but stook around for ages if i remember rightly.

Expected for KT, her album will sell great anyway. Awful Number 1.

:puke2: at the no 1, it was epected though...

Scouting for girls is called Shes so lovely isint it?

 At Maroon 5!
