ITV received a warning from media watchdog Ofcom after the broadcaster transmitted the explicit version of Lily Allen's song Smile during the day.

 

The song was played during This Morning, the weekday magazine programme.

 

Viewers complained that they heard Lily Allen sing "you were f...ing that girl next door".

 

ITV said it regretted the incident which was caused by human error. The incorrect version of the song was used.

 

The broadcaster said it had also apologised to a number of viewers who had complained directly to it.
