Damon’s Weekly Chart #48

For the 2nd week in a row, We Start Fires and Babyshambles battled it out for Number 1, but Play You remains my favourite song for a 2nd week. 3 rises elsewhere in the top 5, from Martijn Van Telden, Aly & AJ and one of my favourite bands in 2007, The Thrills. The Midnight Choir may well go one better than Nothing Changes Around Here went, and hit Number 1. The top 10 sees rises for Sugababes and The Shins, and also a new-entry from exciting new pop artist Lauren Rose. Lauren is supporting X-Factor finalist Ray Quinn on his UK Tour. 4 chart entries and 3 new entries this week, the chart entries from Britney Spears, Cajun Dance Party, CSS and Angels & Airwaves. The 3 new entries are from Lauren Rose, The Indelicates and The Donnas. One week after Charlean Dance entered the chart, they make the highest rise, up from 39 to 20. Leaving the chart after a solid 11 week run is Athlete with Hurricane.
