Oh poppycock, they are doing it on purpose because Leona and TT are out the same week they should be reported for flouting the rules, it just seems like underhand tactics, I still think Leona will get her second #1
Ha! It will serve them right when Leona gets to Number 1 instead. I wish they would just let the fans buy the music as normal instead of resulting to stunts to get to number 1.

They are not breaking any rules.

Going to be interesting now if it's #1

Oh, shocking! They are trying out new forms of promotion! They actually want the top spot! All shake your fists! -_-

It's a dog eat dog world, nothing wrong AT ALL with doing what you can to secure sales and chart positions.

I just wish they would release a CD single the same as other acts just to see how it does - it seems false and desperate to result to these measures and tactics every time.

The true test of their popularity is how long a song sticks about for - not long in McFly's case.

One week later, they drop out of the chart completely

I agree.

I'm backing Leona completely. It's sad how they have to go to these tactics to secure a #01. Ah well, it's chart run will still probably be something like 1 - 9 - 27 - 42 - OUT :cheer:

I'm sorry but how is it 'sad'? Perhaps they think that with extra promo and tactics, they might actually stick around and sell? You all make me laugh, because you'd like nothing better than for it to be your favourite artists doing this.

Thats a bit of a sweeping statement! It appears desperate as they clearly are afraid to acheive a number 1 single the same way as every other artist does.

For the record, none of my favourite artists would resort to such a thing ;)

But the thing is it doesn't stick around, its blatantly just for first week sales to get it to #01

They should just do what all other artists do and release it on 2x CD and download. No other artist feels the need to go to this length to sell records.

dont they do this everytime?

How's it any different than going on radio or TV to promote though? They're not forcing anybody to buy anything.

Going on TV and radio to promote is the standard way to promote a song isn't it? This is what the majority of artists do...

What McFly are doing is almost begging their hard pressed fans to buy their single! If every artist got to number 1 this way, then McFly would not be accused of being desperate.

Historically, their song will peak high, and fall very quickly out of the top 75. This has been the case for their last few singles, I cannot see why this one will be any different. If I were an artist I would prefer to have a few lower charting and longer staying (and bigger selling) singles to my name rather than these in/out #1s.

thats because Mcfly are cheap and know they havent a chance if they just do the same as everyone else -_-

EXACTLY.

The only memorable McFly songs imo are ''5 Colours...'', ''Obviously'' and maybe ''All About You''

The rest will be forgotten fast.

I still think Leona will beat them anyhow, it seems like a waste of resources for them to use tactics like this each time, just to have a #1 record.

I agree with Jester's comments.

the orginal plan wasn't like this

until they found out that take that and leona was out

actually the heart never lies seems to be getting alot of positive reviews

the downloads via itunes is out on 7th oct so will

I don't see the problem

the downloads are filmed on each night of the tour so fans can pick what download they wanna buy theres nothing saying you gotta buy all of them or anything

I've not known them to release the itunes download 2 weeks before cd release

dont they do this everytime?

This is the 2nd time

last time they did majour promo like this was last year with star girl exactly the same week as this single

anyway thats part 1 theres more to come

Don't forget it is the half term

I don't think it will fall that fast

this time its out in the middle of their tour unlike other singles

so the download will be promoted night after night and their tour don't end until dec

also you can download via itunes from 7th oct normally i tunes downloads are out same week as the cd

as a Mcfly fan i like what they are doing its different

People only moan because its Mcfly if it was someone else it would be ok
