also Vengaboys - We're Going To Ibiza

I would have thought that was the import version, which charted a week early, with a different Cat No. Jive 550422 (import): A week later on Positiva CDTIV119

why arent these recognised?

why arent these recognised?

It might be because only climbs within the Top 75 are recognised. Just an educated guess! Mikey may know.

Did Mambo No.5 not make it?

Same as the Vengaboys, it charted a week early on imports, with a diff Cat No.

Import version on Ariola

Official single on RCA

why arent these recognised?

Some of them also don't really count because they originally charted on "leaked" sales, i.e. shops sold them before the official release date. But it's also the case that the "Official" chart remains the top 75 even though a top 200 is compiled.

I personally wouldn't recognise the 2006 ones but that's just me. The others were genuine slow-burning climbers, something which in these days of long-term promo campaigns isn't likely to ever happen again.

I love that Captain Sensible managed to climb 32 places on the basis of one Top of the Pops appearance...and probably for going mental on Saturday Superstore too!

2003 Westlife – Mandy 200-1*

Holy $h!t!!!!! :o :o :o

Think Twice did NOT climb 53-1 in one week!

My Chemical Romance managed 23-1 last year.

23-1 for My Chemical Romance?? :o It was an absolute CLASSIC, though.
The TWO biggest climbers to #1 both come from Westlife?? EW. :puke2:
So the Sugababes could be up there come Sunday with 35-1?

 I thought it was just songs that climbed to Number One from outside the Ten, not in One week.

After 1 week of release only

I'd have thought the earlier ones wouldn't be recognised as they were on import?

The Book Of Hit Singles lists all singles in that catergory before downloads that charted before release as separate entries and a separate chart run.
