September 27, 200717 yr Author I remember doing this topic a couple of months back, but since we have new members online, I thought I share again. Any additions or corrections are welcome, a few charted on imports, for example Lou Bega, Vengaboys, Britney Spears, a week early before entering the chart at #1 with a different cat no. Gnarls Barkley, and Rihanna are the only two acts that has gone straight to #1 on downloads only, and before anyone mentions Mika, he did not, he entered the chart at #2 in its first week.
September 27, 200717 yr that was a remix!!! the actual single was on released on monday. good 2 know that the 5 other babes number 1's were all straight 2 the top. cheers
September 28, 200717 yr Wow! only 3 songs entered at No.1 this year...I'm sure Westlife will hold the physical and download back until the same day and be added to the list
September 28, 200717 yr that was a remix!!! the actual single was on released on monday. No, you're wrong. Look at the Official Chart, and it says that "About You Now" is at #35. And on Sunday it will be indicated as a climb from 35 to 1 or 2. Remixes don't chart on their own, they count for the proper song. So they won't make it into this "straight to the top" list.
September 28, 200717 yr i think im gonna listen 2 mikey on this 1 after all he knows what he is on about. whats with the "NO YOUR WRONG???" i mean come on, just sayin by the way would have been a lot better. there really isn't the need for such an attitude. *edit* ok, so mikey made a slight error, but my point on the way u spoke 2 me still stands. twasn't nice Edited September 28, 200717 yr by f1mad

Sorry that was my mistake Sugababes will climb from 35, as noted by Spiker
September 28, 200717 yr its kewl, they will still ahve the biggest climb within the top 40 who would have thought a remix would have done so well tho?
September 28, 200717 yr So about 700 of the #1s didn't enter at the top? :o WOW I expected the number to less than that considering how the charts changed in the mid 90s. And Mika entered at #3 did he not? And hmmm if Shayne keeps off the Babes he wll go on the list.
September 28, 200717 yr Until 1995 there were very few. Then from 1995 to 2005 these 10 years had an explosion. They were also the years when over 90% of singles entered the chart at their peak positions. This made the charts very boring unlike now and pre-1995 which are really interesting.
