Posted May 6, 200619 yr hmmm... The weakest one in the series so far, I did not like this episode at all, to be honest, very poor in some places. Interesting story though. When he was trapped in the past it was pretty obvious, the Fireplace would be his returning point 4/10 but on a happier note, the Cyber Man are back next week :cheer: Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 6, 200619 yr I only half watched it, but it still didn't seem very gripping. Still, the acting SOUNDED very good
May 6, 200619 yr Have to disagree, strongest episode of the series so far by a long way, we see more of the character of the Doctor coming through here, his loneliness, his search for a kindred spirit.. A very poignant episode, no gimmicks, no Warrior Monks, no references to other films, just damn good story-telling.... And the parting shot was just inspired - the spaceship was called SS Madame De Pompadour (hence the reason for the robots' quest became totally clear), no way you could've seen that coming... 9/10
May 6, 200619 yr Easily the worst one so far, I mean the bad guys were all dead with 10 minuites to go!. It was really kinda predictable as well, and quite boring, however next weeks episode looks brilliant. 6/10
May 6, 200619 yr I think that was the best of the series so far! :o Emotional gravitas, excellent acting, and good humour! 9/10
May 6, 200619 yr That was the Doctor Who equivalent of listening to Radiohead - Kid A album & reminded me of Roald Dahl's Tales Of The Unexpected. I spent the majority of the episode failing to second guess what was happening with the plot & that was precisely why it was excellent - This dark and unpredictable episode had no gimmicks, few jokes, no dramatic showdown and it ended with a sad, poignant, anti-climatic finish - which would have most people scratching their heads. While the Citizen Kane "Rosebud" like parting shot explained exactly why the androids were after the brain of Madame Da Pompadour. 9/10
May 6, 200619 yr I enjoyed it too. I thought it was a really good episode. I haven't been disappointed with this series yet, each episode just keeps on getting better and better. It was good to see the doctor's humanity being explored, and like the previous episode had an emotional ending. I thought the alien robots were quite scary with the masks on which was good as it kept that haunting, menace as well the romantic element between the doctor and the girl. I felt the ending was rather touching and sad as you watched the doctor's relationship develop with the girl, it was sad to see that final goodbye. I'd give the episode a 9/10. I'm looking forward to the next episode featuring the Cyberman. The trailer was intriguing.
May 6, 200619 yr I really liked this one. Possibly my favourite so far. The clockwork droid things looked good, I loved the Period costumes and the linking 18th Century to the future (51st Century wasn't it?). The Confidential after was very interesting too.
May 6, 200619 yr Wow! So divided on this one. I thought it was the best one this series. I liked how it wasn't as funny as usual - I guess I prefer it when it's a bit more serious! And those clock guy thingies were scary! I'll be sleeping with the light on tonight! :P

May 6, 200619 yr but it still hasn't matched up to the last series yet Agree with you there. I'm not sure it could beat the last series. The next episode does look good though.
May 6, 200619 yr Author Was there a torchwood reference this week? I didn't see any! I didn't see or heard any Torchwood references at all today.

And those clock guy thingies were scary! I'll be sleeping with the light on tonight! :P Yeah, I agree with you. It was cool when it was more...eh...dramatic. I prefer it when it's about time and going back and forth etc rather than just going to the future and fighting monsters or people who look like cats etc. I noticed it was by Stephen Moffat, who wrote Coupling and he done the ep last series that was set in the 50's...glad hes done another episode as he seems to have really cool ideas for episodes. The ending was really sad...even though I kept saying to myself 'go in the tardis and visit her before she died' but oh well.

Was that the one we hated? I remember you, me and Jase watching it and turning it off halfway through cos it was boring $h!te! :o
May 6, 200619 yr I've been browsing the digital spy forum on this episode and it seems that knowbosy has spotted a Torchwood refernce in the 4 / 5 pages I browsed, so maybe there is a different theme or maybe there isn't one at all this year.
May 7, 200619 yr Was that the one we hated? I remember you, me and Jase watching it and turning it off halfway through cos it was boring $h!te! :o Nooooo. That was $h!te but maybe it was the 40s? It was that one "Are you my mommy" with the gasmasks and all. I also liked that there was no Torchwood stuff in this episode and Mikey can act now. YAY.
May 7, 200619 yr Oh God! How could I forget that? Are you my mummy? Mummy? MUMMYYYYY! I finally bought the series 1 DVDs this week. Woolies were doing them at £5.99 each for one week only, so I bought all 4. I'll watch them when I finish uni! :D
