I'm surprised how close it is, I thought the Sugababes would walk it.

That Aly & AJ song appeals to 13-year old kiddies - it's AWFUL.

BLATES the Sugababes

Sugababes really seem to have had their time. OK, their music still sells loads, possibly more than ever - but where oh where has that genius creative spark gone?

This new single is bland, at best - it's an album-filler with a horribly MOR US Kelly Clarkson vibe. The sparkly, hip, innovation has left them... and we're left with this single, a radio-friendly slice of 3 minutes of well... nothingness.

The Guardian got it right last weekend when it toally rubbished this single. "Bring back Mutya" it screamed... and, whilst their former singer certainly hasn't rocked the world with her humdrum solo offerings to date (that album? sheeeeesh)... maybe she was the balls Sugababes needed.

The band themselves seem half-hearted about the whole affair - even their record covers are truly hideous now (check the ghastly new album cover)..... and whilst Siobhan Donaghy is making such absolutely tremendous, fresh and groundbreaking music - it's rather ironic that her former bandmate(s) have hit a creative impasse. The very fact that the general public simply aren't 'getting' Donaghy's solo stuff whilst this song is at number one is proof enough that the UK charts are in a state of humdrum mediocrity not seen since before the birth of punk.

After their truly stupendous version of Arctic Monkeys' 'Dancefloor', you'd think maybe new member Amelle had brought along the ballsiness needed to replace Mutya... but... on the strength of this, their first 'proper' single with her... it seems she hasn't one bit.

We all know Buzzjack would laud and froth at the gob over a Sugababes single if it consisted of them belching and farting to an RnB toon - so the frenzy this single is causing here is nothing to get surprised at..... however, despite its number one status, this is the weakest single this band have launched since the anaemic 'Red Dress'. I think I'll listen to Overload and Freak Like Me on repeat and forget this sorry little record ever existed.

Aly and AJ for me.

^ Someone's bitty Aly & AJ ain't winning

"About You Now" isn't the best single they've released, but it's DAMN good.

Isn't that like asking what's better - cat sh*t or dog sh*t?

Well, maybe you arent a fan of the lead single from the latest Sugababes album.

But i suggest you read some of the reviews for the upcoming album, as its seen by most the best album they have ever made.

So after hearing one single, i really wouldnt accuse them of being finished and in the gutter JUST yet...

A former personal chart #1 (before Siouxsie Sioux knocked it off) versus A future hate chart #1.

Tough call. I'm seriously dumbfounded by how tight the vote it.

And as how for Russt thinking a gawd awful piece of Disney-esque fluff that makes High School Musical seem like Grease is better than another piece of brilliant songwriting from Cathy Dennis while at least the Sugababes have changed their sound (unlike a certain other girl group I could mention) then shame on you.

No doubt Aly & Aj will win until they are up against Samanda

Im surprised at how well Aly & AJ doing.

Ricky, We're all entitled to our opinons. Do you really have to make a large essay about how much you hate a song.

HOW ON EARTH is this a close-call?

The Aly & AJ song is DISGUSTING :puke2:

Aly & Aj, love the Sugababes but prefer this. ^_^
