Posted October 18, 200717 yr I know that the Mod Applicaiton thread has been closed so nobody can apply for the 'Reviews Forum' but there are other forums, in need of a moderator, and the thread is closed so nobody can apply. Not saying this because I want to, none interest me ^_^
October 18, 200717 yr Just because my name was the last person on that thread topic, I did not close it
October 18, 200717 yr I would like to know what is going on as well -_- It's all becoming a bit un-clear -_-

Not saying this because I want to, none interest me ^_^ I closed the thread. The reason is as follows: For AF's I would like to build towards two mods per forum and if someone leaves then it is up to the other mod to promote someone. This is much more community centric and should have very little to do with Global Moderators or Admins. For main forum mod's, how often will we need moderator's for these? If we need a mod we can add topics or approach people on a case by case basis. This is a much better use of people's time and effort. If we keep a topic open people will apply for everything and anything (ive seen it 1000 times) and it will be the Global Mods and Admin's who will be taking up there time sorting out something that in one case should be community generated and on the other very infrequent.

Yea I understand the first bit... But the second bit  Does that mean that there will be no mods for Main forums? And Finaly what The F**** is going on with the reviews forum -_- Please can someone tell me how long it will be before it comes back up and where it will be  All the clues ive got have been very cryptic.. and I don't understand why I (And other members/Mods) Havnt been told what is going on ;)

There will be times when we do need a mod and we can post advertising the place or even PM suitable people. Makes no sence keeping a 24/7 topic for something as infrequent as that. You dont become a mod by applying you become a mod due to your actions on the site before applying. Those actions get you noticed and as such you will in the most cases be asked to moderate without making a topic about it. I would like to know if it was agreed by all of the Admins and Global mods.... Bence every decision and choice doesnt need buy-in from everyone; however this was discussed. You will see over time we will develop and grow based a lot on the community but also on right decisions made at the right time. I want admins and GM's to have less work to do, if we need a mod we will post for one and if someone sees an area in decline then PM someone - what we do not want it an open ended topic for anyone and everyone to apply.
October 18, 200717 yr Maybe I have misunderstood something  Do you speak about replacements of mods?

Sorry Phil.. You seem to have conntredicted yourself -_- In the firt Paragraph you seem to have gone on about Not having mods for main forums ect.... Yet when speaking to bence you said that you want to lessen the work for Admin and GM's  Surley if you want that to happen we need More Not less Mods  And what does 'Every desicion doesnt need a buy-in from everyone' mean  Does it mean that You make the desicions and other Admins and GM's are used when needed?
October 18, 200717 yr Maybe I have misunderstood something  Do you speak about replacements of mods? I sounds like it Ben <_<
October 18, 200717 yr So, am I right in thinking the whole applications idea has been scrapped and any moderator positions we will only be available to people who actually use and care about the forum, instead of people who see a position open and apply even though they don't use the forum?
October 18, 200717 yr  I'm so glad I'm not involved in any of this anymore  You was Admin before I joined was you not  :P

Please read my about first post: "For main forum mod's, how often will we need moderator's for these? If we need a mod we can add topics or approach people on a case by case basis." There are many fewer Main forums with much fewer people stepping down so when it comes to applications we will have less! Hope that makes sense. So, am I right in thinking the whole applications idea has been scrapped and any moderator positions we will only be available to people who actually use and care about the forum, instead of people who see a position open and apply even though they don't use the forum? Exactly :). There is no point reviewing a constant stream of applications with many for forums who do not need a mod or from people who never visit the forum.
October 18, 200717 yr You was Admin before I joined was you not  :P I used to be Admin. Andre was a Global Mod. From my undertstanding, Phil is talking about replacements for MFMs if and when any stand down.
October 18, 200717 yr You was Admin before I joined was you not  :P No I was a Global Mod, but both the management team and myself got fed up of me in that position :P
October 18, 200717 yr No I was a Global Mod, but both the management team and myself got fed up of me in that position :P Nicely put
