OK then, Final question..

When (if) are we Gonna se the reviews forum again?

the review section will come but will be driven from what we have already. I dont want something seperate from our existing forums as that spreads out content too thinly. Please be patient.

Just because my name was the last person on that thread topic, I did not close it

I didn't say you closed it did I? I thought I just said it was closed  :P

In response to the whole moderating thing. I completly agree and understand what Phil is saying. I know when I applied for a forum, it was because it was a forum I used and cared about (TV and Britney forum) I never applied for any other one, because I never used it, and just because I was a moderator of that forum, I would only be using it as a duty and not for the responsibilty.

Anyone can write up a decent application and the application system only resulted in people applying, and if only 1 person applied then more than likely they would have got the position! I liked it when Admin/GM chose people months ago, and I feel incorporating that with allowing the members to suggest and promote people for the posistion is a much better idea. It shows that the person is liked by people and that the other moderator notices him/her using the forum and contributes to it as a member ^_^

Good Idea!

So what if your a moderator on a board already but want to be one on another?

if applications are now closed this isnt easy

Right..

Lets take you for example - You are mod of Amy Winehouse... And A Sophie mod position comes available... THE EXISTING MOD would choose who his co-mod would be..

Ok? :D

Not necessarily, GMs and Admin will have final say on all mods as all types of factors would have to be considered (ie is the current mod just chosing a friend instead of someone who can mod the forum).

If you as a member notice that a forum has a vacant position available, then you are still able to pm a GM and tell them why you think you should get that position. This in turn can show that your willing to take the initiative and that you would like to be considered for that position aswell.

So..

The the Killers mod position is open now... Fletch could put forward A name/names to Gm/Admin who he think should mod the forum.. Or do exesting Co-Mods have no/little say on who should be mod...And if you want to mod for a forum do you have to Pm a GM or can you just express your intrest in the forum you are applying for?

In the interest of the Killers forum, Fletch would have some say and any name(s) given by him would be seriously considered. But if someone else wanted to be co-mod their best chance would be to pm a GM and tell them straight out why they want to mod it, instead of posting in the forum as its direct and they'd know for sure that their interest has been recognised by management.

Ok.. I get it now ^_^

OMG How confusing

Just for the record if EVER a mod place on the Sophie EllisBextor board comes up remember ive always wanted to do it lol

Wouldn't it make more sense for applications to continue in the thread and have the co-mod pick them from there?

I never liked the idea of applications tbh, I can see what admin were trying to do but it did open up mod positions to people who hadn't fully integrated into the site, weren't a true fan of the artist etc.

I think I'm right when I say we've gone back to the original system? If so, then it's really not hard to understand. Existing mods put a name forward and that name is of course vetted by GM and admin. If none of them have a problem (which they usually wouldn't), then that person is added. "Problems" that arise are usually that the chosen person already has too many forums, is too inexperienced, hasn't fully intergrated, is just a friend of the other mod etc...

Oops! What have I caused

Discussion! 'Tis often difficult to do on here tbh :(

i think it is a good idea tbh,

tho without the old system i doubt i would hold a moderators position

No I was a Global Mod, but both the management team and myself got fed up of me in that position :P

Hey don't speak for all of us! You were like the male me, alas it is no more. -_-
