Posted October 30, 200717 yr I've read on another forum that the drinking age in the uk will be raised to 21. Not sure how true this is because it was only posted on a forum, but what do you think? should it be raised? I think it should, because i know plenty of 18 year olds that buy alcohol for their underage mates, but if they do raise it, i hope they wait until end of may cuz thats when i'll be 21  Edited October 30, 200717 yr by pink_princess01
October 30, 200717 yr And the point would be...? They couldn't use the argument that their systems couldn't handle it...
October 30, 200717 yr It would be pointless in my opinion, unless the laws on providing ID were also tightened up and enforced. Such as in the US. Although I think if people want alcohol they will find means and ways to get it regardless.

October 31, 200717 yr They're not allowed to do this, at 18 you're an adult and you can't tell an adult what they can and can't do.

They can :funky: I believe there's some things you can't do when you're 18 that you can do when you're 21. Besides, they can tell us not to smoke in public places, not to litter, not to jaywalk, not to steal, not to murder etc. :P Personally I think it's a silly idea. If they do decide to do it, at least wait two years
October 31, 200717 yr Although I think if people want alcohol they will find means and ways to get it regardless. Indeed, I started partying and drinking at 16. :P
