Really people, open your minds a bit! :P I am a huge SP fan (and Run is one of the most played tracks on my itunes) and I love what Leona has done with it.

 

I'm not anti Leona, Bleeding Love is on my mp3...But I really really don't like this cover. -_-

 

But then again I can't name any cover that I think is better than the original :(

Hopefully it makes the top 40 and people open their ears and actually listen to the original instead of claiming how 'amazing' the cover is and how ''c**p'' the original is without even listening to the original.. :rolleyes:

I'm not anti Leona and I'd admitt I did like Footprints In The Sand at a stage. But most covers are nothing like original, the same with this (saying it with an open mind) except for Disturbed's cover of 'Land Of Confusion' and Within Temptation's cover of 'Running Up That Hill'. Covers which stuck to the original theme of the song and didnt drag it out into some dreadful long ballad..

That's great. Hopefully that pushes TBTC up a few places, looked like it was on its way out after Sunday's chart.

Not that they really need it but this is great publicity for SP outside of the core fanbase, particularly as Leona keeps bigging them up both as a band and as great songwriters. I assume permission was given somewhere down the live for it to be recorded.

I agree this is a travesty :( All she's (well the record company have for her) done is just changed the key and put her trademark oversinging on it :manson: Worst of all it's now getting the trademark Leona overhype train running along with it and so you just can't bloody escape it! ARRRRRRRRRRRGH! :angry: Ffs she's bad enough as it is :(

im not a huge leona fan but i love her version,its not a sgood as snow patrol but good in a differnt way and leona really does heap praise on snow patrol which is great as leona has a younger fan base,plus the fact snow patrols version has re charted in ireland and the uk on th eback of it is good

btw Leona could have managed to release her own song, not to take any others' ones in order not to cause these discussions :lol:

Leona's version of Run is one of the best covers ive ever heard. I cant remember who out of Snow Patrol said it but he said that after listening to the version of Run, he thought it was amazing. And that he doesnt usually support shows like X Factor but he cant deny talent when he sees it. Thats got to count for something now doesnt it?
