The photos are amazing. Thanks to everyone. He's the best looking Billy by far.

Did you know there's a snippet of Darius on the WOS tv bit about Chicago 10th? I don't have time to look for the link but if you go to the WOS home page, it was right at the top when I found it.

Bonnie Langford looks so old. I don't remember feeling that when she was Roxie.

I like the last one - it looks like someone is hitting him over the head with a program.

That was you Meg

......when you eventually caught up with him....don't you remember

thanks for the reports and photos, they are great, and thanks for the WOS link - Doesnt Darius look splendid, and I love hearing his voice!

I love the fact that Darius was there on stage razzle dazzling , showing that he actually was brilliant, to an audience who otherwise wouldnt know..!!!!

Hi :)

Sorry I haven't been here 'til now. I will post my best pics in this thread when I have edited them this evening, as I am stuck at work at the moment :( Got back about 5 yesterday and have only posted a few on .net as every time I went back to edit more I kept getting interupted, phone, door, wife etc!

It was lovely meeting up with those that went :) Would have been great to see lots more of us though, lets hope for many gigs in the new year :)

The theatre was almost full and there was a good atmosphere throughout the show :) As has been said, it would have been nice to know exactly who was playing which part at any particular time. There were lots of people I didn't recognise, but that's no surprise. The older lady who played Mama Morton gave a very accomplished acting performance, and brought lots of fun to the show which the audience picked up on. Her singing wasn't as good as Brenda, but was adequate, and overall she was the best MM.

I was surprised Duncan from Blue's voice didn't really seem completely up to the job. It was almost as if he was half shouting the lines out in several parts, rather than singing them smoothly. Tony Hadley sang well, but was another who I thought would do much better. His accent was a little suspect IMO. Ian kelsey's singing was quite weak IMO, but his acting and accent were better than some, so it's swings and roundabouts. Terence Maynard(I think) seemed to be on stage for hours <_< He really played the lions share of the role and it left precious little time for us to enjoy D :( Obviously Darius' singing was by far the best, but what shocked me was he was also the best actor! I wanted the chance to compare him against others, and now it has happened, I can say honestly that he really is very good at this, even though it's not how I would like to see him progress as I prefer his own music.

Will be back this evening with pics, and should be able to post them quite large on this site, which is always best :)

B.P. :)

In yesterday's 'Daily Record', there's a picture of a line up of the girls and one of Darius, head and shoulders with the caption Star, inset.

The write up is:

Darius Danesh was at his razzle dazzle best when he turned up for a charity production of 'Chicago' yesterday.

The show at London's Cambridge Theatre was to mark the musical's 10 year run in the West End.

It brought together current and former stars including Bonnie Langford, Claire Sweeney, Gaby Roslin and Kelly Osborne.

The pic included the original Roxie and Velma, who were excellant and Brenda Edwards, who showed just how good her voice was, but they don't get a mention.

There is a very nice picture in the Daily express today of Darius with Denise van outen and ruthie henshall. There are two separate write ups on them but D doesnt get a mention. The caption under the picture is "take a bow Ruthie with Denise van outen and singer Darius Danesh

sorry I am no good at posting pictures but it is a nice one.

My guess beforehand was that either Darius or Tony would do Reached For The Gun with Bonnie.

Did Tony and Duncan get to do any acting? Did poor Tony really get mixed up in RFTG? I remember thinking too that Tony's accent was all over the place when he sang on the TV. Duncan's was better on TV but I didn't think at the time that he performed the song as well as I remembered Darius doing.

It must've been interminable waiting for Darius to come on.

I'm curious as to how the various artists shared songs. Did they sing them together or each take a verse and sing the chorus together or what? What exactly did D do in Razzle Dazzle? Did each Billy do one section ? The stage is so crowded and there's so much movement and interaction with one Billy, I can't imagine 3 on the stage at once.

What acting did Ian Kelsey do? I don't see him listed in anything other than Razzle Dazzle on Preston's list.

BP, you didn't say which Billy was the best dancer - I'm guessing Duncan or Darius but I haven't seen any snippets of Terence, so maybe he is. I remember reading that Ian's routine had been simplified and Tony is a bigger guy than Darius or Duncan so I'm assuming he isn't quite so light on his feet.

When they all danced with the cane during Razzle Dazzle, Darius looked the most accomplished. He moved slicker than the others and I felt his timing was better too. I know some will say I am biased, and obviously I am, but that is not affecting my decision here at all!

I really wish D could have played the full part instead of the little snippet they let him have. I think many people present would have had a huge surprise at just how good he really is. Terence Maynard(I think is his name) took at least 50% of the role and I was getting a bit p'd off when he kept appearing over and over again with still no sign of D :(

To cap it all though, some idiot in the upper circle got his camera confiscated for taking photo's inside the theatre  They did give me it back though :naughty:

this is for Meg, paul and the others who went. There is a review on WOS of the show under discussions then readers review. Please take a look and perhaps add a review of your own.

Yes, I noticed that too Preston - two male reviews!!! They both seem to think that all the BFs were only OK at the best and one had to particularly 'single out' D - no change there then!!!

Julie

I will post a review when I have time. Tonight I have lots going on, so I am just going to quickly post these three pics because I said I would, but will certainly post a few more when I have time :)
