Posted November 15, 200718 yr Does anyone think this is gonna be a bit of a flop? For some reason I have a feeling it's not going to do so well  I haven't heard the song that came on that NME CD yet as I didn't buy it that week (though I need to this week for the Bloc Party single) Anyone else feel this way? Would anyone care about them that much if Carl wasn't in them?
November 16, 200718 yr Yes very much so! The singles weren't that successful off the last album but they always had that 'album band' quality about them. But as its so hard to get continued success thesedays I really can't see it selling all that well. Sure it'll still have the token Libertines fanatics buying it, and I most certainly will be purchasing, but apart from that I can't see it selling all too well. Alas, time will tell.
November 18, 200718 yr Question please. Who exactly are Dirty Pretty Things? Where do they fit into things.

November 20, 200718 yr Author Oh  So Pete and Carl were both in the Libertines. Then Pete left and went to form Babyshambles Then Carl left and went to form Dirty Pretty Things Am I following this? :P Well the full story is like this :P Peter was KICKED OUT of The Libertines, Carl tried to do the rest of the tour doing all his vocals and it didn't work well, they never officially split but they just couldn't carry considering the band centered around the songwriting partnership and chemistry behind Carl and Peter. Peter formed Babyshambles as a side-project DURING The Libertines but after he was kicked out it became his full time project. After everything with The Libertines turned to dust Carl and also Gary Powell (the drummer from The Libertines) formed Dirty Pretty Things and John Hassell (the bassist from The Libertines) formed his own band Yeti who he does the vocals for.
