BBC ads - for a channel that supposedly prides itself on being advertisement free - errr... why are we constantly being told what we could have if we paid for Sky and had the extra BBC channels? Surely this is advertising?

I don't like TV adverts, there seems to be more these days than ever.

People complain about paying the licience fee. I might be wrong, but I think the fact that the BBC doesn't do commercials in this market forces culture pegs back the number of adverts shown on commercial stations.

I have always thought that if the BBC started showing commercials, the number of commercials on a lot of channels would increase.

In any case, you pay directly for the BBC and I guess indirectly for commercial channels.

Surely the cost of advertising a product has to factor into the equasion of the price of commodities.

I didn't realise what "superman that hoe" meant. The whole song is disgusting. I didn't jump on that bandwagon at all, and I'm definitely glad that I didn't now.

My inputs:

-People against women breast feeding in public. It's natural (no offence to women who use the bottle early on) and assuming we've all been breast, then we've all seen a breast before so it's nothing new and fantastic. If you find it embarrassing then stop looking. Why is it okay to have women in short skirts that resemble belts, showing too much thong and porn mags right there in the shop where kids could easily see them?

-People willing to die for animals. In Jamaica we saw quite a few dead cats as we drove along. Apparently if they run out in front of the car, people won't stop. In a real life magazine, a girl swerved off the road to avoid a rabbit. The car crashed and her three friends all died. It's ridiculous.

Oh, and another gripe. Why has "The Moon Landings" topic been closed? ^_^

because theres nothing to discuss..... if you actually read the thread and the links supplied it totally kills off the stupid notion that they were a hoax. i cannot abide the truth being re-written by supersticious fools basing their idiotic notions on bad science.... i left it pinned and closed so anybody thinking about the subject (mainly the young who seem gullable enough to believe anything) could sift through the thread and instead of listening to some crackpot, actually read for themselves the overwhelming evidence that the moon landings did happen.

if theres any NEW evidence then please feel free to start a topic. :)

Hold on a sec. Whilst I agree with that the conspiracy theories are almost certainly a load of bull, it's only my opinion.

It doesn't seem quite right that you can just personally decide one side of the argument is right and then close the thread down, removing the right of people to reply to what you posted.

why?... when i post up evidence that 1 plus 1 equals 2, what service does it do anyone who wants to believe based on inaccurate and bad science.... let alone common sense, that 1 plus 1 equals 2,863?.....

if anybody can come up with some credible evidence that ISNT already been dealt with, ie a new point, then they are entirely at liberty to start a thread addressing it.

i find the topic utterly incredible, and its worrying, that people are all too willing to believe a fantasy and ignore the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I think 1 plus 1 equals 10 if it's in Binary ;)

In any case, of course they were faked as they landed on rock and sediment and not on cheese, well it wasn't Wensleydale at any rate
