Posted December 16, 200717 yr With the Police angered by the pay offer, jobcentre, benefit offices, pension workers, airport staff, BBC staff and fuel protests bubbling under the surface with 48 hour strikes and placards and possibly pickets once again, will this finish off Brown? What do you think?
December 16, 200717 yr The same question about a "winter of discontent" was asked last year. The answer will be the same as well. No.
December 18, 200717 yr Personally, I'd love for it to happen (although it probably wont).. This would be a different Winter of Discontent though. The first one came about because the unions and workers had probably too much power, a second one would, in my mind, be completely justifiable because the ordinary working classes, whether indigeous or immigrant, in this country have got little or no power at all, unlike their French and German counterparts who certainly aren't afraid to go out and make their voices heard. The pendulum has swung far to much towards the bosses, the fat-cats, the bureaucrats and the State itself, people have to stop being so bloody apathetic and accepting of totally unacceptable actions on the part of Govt and the fat-cat Capitalists who run this country for the benefit of no one other than themselves and their own selfish ends, and simply MUST make a stand....
December 20, 200717 yr No - they are heading for a winter of datcontent..... Edited December 20, 200717 yr by zeus555

December 20, 200717 yr Even if there was it would make no difference The winter of discontent was just before a general election Brown if he so wishes can hold out another couple of years or so
December 20, 200717 yr The winter of discontent was just before a general election Brown if he so wishes can hold out another couple of years or so People should hold out for when an election is called, THEN hit them in the bollocks....
December 20, 200717 yr People should hold out for when an election is called, THEN hit them in the bollocks.... lol  Labour is doomed anyways, a sinking ship, Brown should just call an election and lose with grace and dignity instead of clinging desperately onto power Short of being caught by a national newspaper performing indecent acts on a Shetland pony or something Cameron has this next election in the bag I would have a lot more respect for Brown if he went out in a dignified way by calling a general election in January
December 20, 200717 yr Short of being caught by a national newspaper performing indecent acts on a Shetland pony or something Well, he is a Tory mate, nothing would surprise me.... :P  I wont vote for Cameron, no matter how much I may dislike Brown, they're both a pair of utter w/ankers... Not that this new Lib Dem guy is really that much better... Frankly, I dont think there's really anyone worth voting for atm.... I would have perhaps voted for Charles Kennedy, but the Lib Dems just blew that one..... Nah, I'm going for individual candidates now from my constituency (Camden), just like I did in the last one when I lived in Hackney/Bethnal Green and did a protest vote for George Galloway....

December 21, 200717 yr Im not really into this politics stuff as im not old enough to vote yet but it seems that many think that no-one is worth a vote?
December 21, 200717 yr Im not really into this politics stuff as im not old enough to vote yet but it seems that many think that no-one is worth a vote? Pretty much the size of it mate... None of them are worthy of our votes, but you'll still get people going out there and just voting for the party they've always voted for out of habit... I reckon that on your voting slip there should be an option that says "none of the above", I think that would be a great idea so that people could just go out and register a protest vote and send a message to these politicians that they're simply not good enough to run the country.. I have no doubt that the "none of the above" option would win by a landslide.....
