Will Young - Anything Is Possible/Evergreen

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006309S.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

Charted: 9 March 2002

Sales: 1,787,000

Chart run: 1-1-1-2-4-8-12-19-20-21-32-42-40-49-54-61->16

Probably the most successful winner of a modern day reality show to date (with Girls Aloud), Anything Is Possible is a decent enough song considering, but Evergreen, a Westlife cover (how ironic) is terrible. Luckily, Will went down his own path and ignored the blandness imposed on him by Simon Cowell.

Girls Aloud - Sound of The Underground

http://www.upload.moldova.org/muzica/artists/g/girls_aloud/sound_of_the_underground/cover.jpg

Charted: 28 December 2002

Sales: 560,000

Chart run: 1-1-1-1-3-5-9-15-19-19-22-27-38-42-57-56-71-67-56-71-73->21

Pitted against One True Voice, it was obvious from the start that Girls Aloud were far superior. First week sales of 213,000 were a taster of how successful they would become with an unbroken run of 17 Top 10 singles to date, including 3 Number 1s.

Poor Michelle - given a pants song and then a pants album. She had a good voice and with the right songs she could have been more successful. Still, her fame earned her a You Are What You Eat special last year ^_^

This song is utter c**p as well, but Shayne manages to pull it off. Has managed to shock almost everyone by returning this year with a successful single and album!

<_ terrible song undeserving winner i could go on but won :d>

Michelle actually wasn't as bad as I remember her to be. :o

I think Leon and Steve are the only winners that are actually bad.

Shouldn't One True Voice be listed here too? I mean they were joint winners of the show really it was only Girls Aloud vs One True Voice in the chart battle, not the actual show.

Technically the Girls were the overall winners who won the race to the top spot - the main aim of the show ^_^ (as well as establishing a boy and girl band).

Yep, the true winners of the show were the act that charted highest - which was Girls Aloud.

They're all pretty bad except Girls Aloud IMO. Although I liked Hear'Say at the time I was only 9 years old so my music taste was pretty awful then. I love Leona but I don't really like 'A Moment Like This'.

And all of them bar GA and Hear'Say are so corny and cliche about how they're 'achieved their dream'. :puke2:

Obviously Leon is the worst -_-

Here are some of the biggest 1st singles of real tv winners in France :

The Top3 of reality tv Winners debut singles :

1. L5 (Popstars 1) (Girls Aloud lookalike lol)

2. Nolwenn Leroy (Star Academy 2) (Leona lookalike :P)

3. Jenifer (Star Academy 1)

The otherdebut singles :

Myriam Abel (Pop Idol 3)

Whatfor (Popstars 2)

Linkup (Popstars 3)

Steeve Estatof (Pop Idol 2)

Christophe Willem (Pop Idol 4)

Julien Doré (Pop Idol 5)

Magalie Vaé (Star Academy 5)

Elodie Frégé (Star Academy 3)

Grégory Lemarchal (Star Academy 4)

Sheryfa Luna (Popstars 4)

Edited by Xmas Bertie

They could all actually eb something decent if they weren't placed under Simon Cowell's thumb.

I mean Will's first album and singles were disgusting - but Friday's Child and everything after is brilliant imo. ^_^

I really like Will's first album. There are some great songs on it - Over You, Fine Line, From Now On - I still play it from time to time. I agree, though, his second and third albums are better. Can't wait for the 4th - roll on 2008!

Thanks for the info jester - interesting stats!

Fame Academy 2

Underated, a lot better than the FA reputation would indicate. again, a self penned song.

IMO the only good ones were Hear'say, Girls Aloud & Leona.

All the other winners to me were bad

Leona is the only one that is gonna make it big outside UK & Ireland.

Bleeding Love is currently Number 3 in Denmark.

Will Young had 1 minor hit in Holland & Italy. Girls Aloud have had 2 minor hits and 1 midchart hit in Europe.
