Posted December 20, 200717 yr Popstars - 2000/2001 Hear'say - Pure and Simple http://www.theofficialcharts.com/uploadedimages/packshot_hearsay_pure.jpg Charted: 24 March 2001 Sales: 1.1million Chart run: 1-1-1-3-5-12-20-24-26-28-35-38-41-44-48-53-50-52-42-36-36-49-64-66-67->25 aVAmuWvKhIs Not tooo bad a single for the debut - it sold 500k+ in its first week :o The only problem is the video which sees Shrek lighting his farts :(
December 20, 200717 yr Author Pop Idol - 2001/2002 Will Young - Anything Is Possible/Evergreen http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006309S.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg Charted: 9 March 2002 Sales: 1,787,000 Chart run: 1-1-1-2-4-8-12-19-20-21-32-42-40-49-54-61->16 AhPCqQj5TQY Probably the most successful winner of a modern day reality show to date (with Girls Aloud), Anything Is Possible is a decent enough song considering, but Evergreen, a Westlife cover (how ironic) is terrible. Luckily, Will went down his own path and ignored the blandness imposed on him by Simon Cowell.
December 20, 200717 yr Author Popstars: The Rivals 2002 Girls Aloud - Sound of The Underground http://www.upload.moldova.org/muzica/artists/g/girls_aloud/sound_of_the_underground/cover.jpg Charted: 28 December 2002 Sales: 560,000 Chart run: 1-1-1-1-3-5-9-15-19-19-22-27-38-42-57-56-71-67-56-71-73->21 dqCoQnZkS9E Pitted against One True Voice, it was obvious from the start that Girls Aloud were far superior. First week sales of 213,000 were a taster of how successful they would become with an unbroken run of 17 Top 10 singles to date, including 3 Number 1s.
December 20, 200717 yr Author Pop Idol 2 2003/2004 Michelle McManus - All This Time http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/1c/All_This_Time.jpg/200px-All_This_Time.jpg Charted: 17 January 2004 Sales: 350,000 Chart run: 1-1-1-3-4-8-11-20-31-44-56->11 -XUMJ0UNCAY Poor Michelle - given a pants song and then a pants album. She had a good voice and with the right songs she could have been more successful. Still, her fame earned her a You Are What You Eat special last year ^_^
December 20, 200717 yr Author X Factor 2004 Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds http://www.xfactorwatch.co.uk/Images/Amazon/Contestants/SteveBrookstein/AgainstAllOdds/B0006ZRVMO.02.MZZZZZZZ.jpg Charted: 1 January 2005 Sales: 200,000+ Chart run: 2-1-2-4-12-27-33-38-44-64->10 yhQcQ8M8yyg Eurgh - what a terrible winner. Quite righly consigned to the bargain bin very quickly. Manged to worm to the top of the charts in the post christmas slump.
December 20, 200717 yr Author X Factor 2 2005 Shayne Ward - That's My Goal http://www.legalsounds.com/legalsounds/upload/Album/16298-170x170.jpeg Charted: 31 December 2005 Sales: 1.1 million Chart run: 1-1-1-1-5-6-7-10-12-22-33-42-57-44-62-67-36-34-49-62-75->21 AmnW9oF1InQ This song is utter c**p as well, but Shayne manages to pull it off. Has managed to shock almost everyone by returning this year with a successful single and album!
December 20, 200717 yr Author X Factor 3 2006 Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697050872.JPG Charted: 30 December 2006 Sales: 817,337 Chart run: 1-1-1-1-6-12-18-33-32-49-66-55R(34)-71-74R(2)->14 RR6qSfBqJVg Mariah/Whitney-esque Leona was the clear winner of X Factor 3 with first week sales of A Moment Like This totalling 571,000. Has also managed to have the biggest sellling single of 2007 with Bleeding Love and her debut album Spirit has already shfted 1.1 million copies in less than 6 weeks! Go Leona!

December 20, 200717 yr Michelle actually wasn't as bad as I remember her to be. :o I think Leon and Steve are the only winners that are actually bad. Shouldn't One True Voice be listed here too? I mean they were joint winners of the show really it was only Girls Aloud vs One True Voice in the chart battle, not the actual show.
December 20, 200717 yr Shouldn't One True Voice be listed here too? I mean they were joint winners of the show really it was only Girls Aloud vs One True Voice in the chart battle, not the actual show. Technically the Girls were the overall winners who won the race to the top spot - the main aim of the show ^_^ (as well as establishing a boy and girl band). Edited December 20, 200717 yr by JammerD
December 20, 200717 yr Author Technically the Girls were the overall winners who won the race to the top spot - the main aim of the show ^_^ (as well as establishing a boy and girl band). Yep, the true winners of the show were the act that charted highest - which was Girls Aloud.
December 20, 200717 yr They're all pretty bad except Girls Aloud IMO. Although I liked Hear'Say at the time I was only 9 years old so my music taste was pretty awful then. I love Leona but I don't really like 'A Moment Like This'. And all of them bar GA and Hear'Say are so corny and cliche about how they're 'achieved their dream'. :puke2:

December 20, 200717 yr They could all actually eb something decent if they weren't placed under Simon Cowell's thumb. I mean Will's first album and singles were disgusting - but Friday's Child and everything after is brilliant imo. ^_^
December 20, 200717 yr I really like Will's first album. There are some great songs on it - Over You, Fine Line, From Now On - I still play it from time to time. I agree, though, his second and third albums are better. Can't wait for the 4th - roll on 2008! Thanks for the info jester - interesting stats!
December 21, 200717 yr Fame academy 1 David Sneddon 1-1-3-8-10-20-26-30-35-46-54-52-56-48-36-58-68-74->18 rpWTaGnudXY at least he writes his own songs. Fame Academy 2 Alex Parks 3-6-15-31-42-43-49-60-64 KsD6yEyOo8c Underated, a lot better than the FA reputation would indicate. again, a self penned song.
December 21, 200717 yr IMO the only good ones were Hear'say, Girls Aloud & Leona. All the other winners to me were bad Leona is the only one that is gonna make it big outside UK & Ireland. Bleeding Love is currently Number 3 in Denmark. Will Young had 1 minor hit in Holland & Italy. Girls Aloud have had 2 minor hits and 1 midchart hit in Europe.
