I've been a Kylie fan for ooooh since the late 80s! Through thick and thin, I've always loved her (aside from her Light Years era) so I thought I'd do my own top twenty! Comments would be immensely appreciated!

20 :

In My Arms (I oughta take one from her current album - although X is a little patchy in parts, it's a great album. 'In My Arms' is shaping up to be a favourite from the album and on the first listen - I was hooked! A single release and video has got to be on the cards for this Calvin Harris-produced gem!)

19 :

Tears (A lesser known gem from her Impossible Princess era, sounds very much like NOTHING else she has done - a melting pot of sounds. May have been an accident, but what a bloody good one!)

18 :

Love At First Sight (A predictable one I know, very much homage to her SAW days. The US mix by Ruff and Jam was also nice, but this version is far more euphoric!)

17 :

Step Back In Time (Remember the olllllllld daaayyyyyyyyys? Remember the Ooooo'Jaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyys!)

16 :

More More More (Gay, gay and more gay! This must rank as her campest, cutest entry in this chart! Great intro into her landmark Fever album)

15 :

Limbo (Taken from the 'Impossible Princess' album, what is unofficially regarded as her most important album - her yearn to experiment and passion for new music is blatant on this! Fantastic!)

14 :

Slow (Chemical Brothers Mix) (A relatively decent original turned into an 8 minute electroclash! The Chems are great, and were better than great when accompanied with Kylie)

13 :

Automatic Love (Stripped to it's near essentials, Kylie goes into dinner part territory - a knightmare concept in theory - but this is a beautiful track from her Deconstruction days)

12 :

Put Yourself In My Place (And another from that era, Kylie gets her kit off (for the few of us on her that appreciate her in that way!) for some real seductive yummyness!)

11 :

If You Don't Love Me (Kylie and piano. Nothing more. Nothing less. Even her twee pop voice sounds lush against the smokey jazz bar piano. This gen can be found on her Hits+ album).

10 :

Secret (Take You Home) (Parlophone chosen some of the worse offerings on her Body Language album - Chocolate (and not the good kind!) is an awful song - but this razor-egged ditty will now live on to be a firm favourite amongst her fans)

09 :

Did It Again (I love this, but even by her fans this is not regarded as one of her finer moments. The attitiude-riden track is also accompanied with a wicked video)

08 :

Love Affair (Kylie gets caught up in a one-night-stand, if only she did more often we would get more of these full-on dance anthems! A killer track that should've been released)

07 :

Where Is The Feeling (Video version) (Yes I know this is not gonna be a popular choice, often regarded as being boring and unmemorable. But this was her deep venture into dance music back in the mid 90s - and I love the video!)

06 :

Hand On Your Heart (An absolute guilty pleasure! I get so much enjoyment out of this, just cannot get enough of that chunky, bouncy SAW sound. And Jose Gonzalez seemed to agree that, lyrically, it was solid!)

05 :

What Do I Have To Do (Again produced by the hit machine, this was her edging ever so closer to house/dance music - which pretty much dominated the charts back in 1991! A knock-out of a track!)

04 :

Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Mix) (A distinctly average Kylie track turned into what can only be described as OH MY EFFING GOD!!! And the breakdown where Kylie is on the verge of an orgasm makes it all the more shocking! Fischerspooners career was very, very shortlived, but what they did with this was pure genius)

03 :

Confide In Me (Up until this was released, Kylie was about as credible as Sonia (who I also love, but lets not get into that) so 'Confide In Me' was a crucial release. 13 years on, this still blows me away. It has aged remarkably - both the song and video still sounding so fresh, so vital.)

02 :

Shocked (DNA Mix) (For me, there is NOTHING better in this world than an old-skool piano with a diva vocal and a hook big enough to hag your coat on! This just about pushes all the buttons for me time and time again. The jazzi-P rap in the middle may sound cheesey now, but that only adds to it's charm)

And finally...

01 :

Better The Devil You Know

(It has to be, it's got to be! Everyone the world over knows and loves this track. It's tracks like this that make everyone love her - doesn't matter what your music tastes are, this is one of THE very few tracks that seem to unite everyone into one big (gay) gathering!)

I really agree about Love Affair. It's very much Kylie's You Won't Forget About Me in terms of theme and sound. It's unsually dancey for her too, and might've done really well if released, a la On A Night Like This, her other danciest track.

Thanks for the comments (I'm 24 now, and when I was 6/7 years of age, nothing sounded better than that little Scouse minx! I just adore that SAW sounnd from 89/90!).

'Love Affair' is a great track - of course. You Wont Forget About Me is shocking. The original instrumental is great, but the vocal version is so poorly arranged - everything about it pretty much stinks! No quarms with Dannii, but nothing of hers has ever really impressed me massively.

Shameless: What don't you like about Confide In Me? I'm interested!

Im curious to know too becuase I cant see any reason to hate that song so much. Ok it may not be someones favourite but to be his worst Kylie song is just strange lol.

i find it too like bjork. at that time i liked bjork at that time and thought it was a bad copy, the song just grates me, it never gets going the chorus is boring it just does nothing for me in any way plus i think she looked terrible in the video and the single cover was horrendous

Her singles and albusm for her Decon. days (in 94 anyway) were designed by Mark Farrow, he also did a lot of DeConstructions designs (think also M-People, K-Klass, Cream (club)...). I thought they were a very daring step for Kylie, and should be considered her most important work as she wouldn't be around if it wasnt for tracks such as this.
Good chart. I just love confide in me.

Excellent countdown...Love Affair should have been a single, I agree

nice to see some forgotten classics in your countdown too. I never bought Hits+ so I'll have to download If You Don't Love Me
