Britain’s favourite four piece Take That have written and recorded a soaring new song entitled 'Rule The World' for the latest epic big screen production from acclaimed film director Matthew Vaughn for Paramount Pictures called 'Stardust'.

This will be the first time the band have written and recorded a song specifically for a film. Grammy Award-winning producer John Shanks (who also produced the band’s current album ‘Beautiful World’) worked on the musical arrangement for the track which was recorded with the band at Abbey Road Studios which is also where they shot the video. The video and the recording of the track also features the Millennia Ensemble, an 18 piece string ensemble.

'Stardust' isn’t just any film, it’s been dubbed "this autumn’s escape into enchantment" and features an all star cast including Robert De Niro, Sienna Miller, Ricky Gervais, Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sir Ian McKellen and Rupert Everett to name but a few and will be in UK cinemas from October 19th. - HMV

I think this is the highest chart single that didn't hit #1 this year in '07 makes you wonder what would happen if Leona didn't release her #1 a week later

The wait is over. 'Bleeding Love' is the first single to be released from Leona Lewis’s highly anticipated debut album, 'Spirit'. Since winning the X Factor in 2006, Leona has been recording and writing for her album, taking her time to get it absolutely right. 'Bleeding Love' gives us the first glimpse of what we can expect and is well worth the wait. 'Bleeding Love' was written and produced by LA’s hottest emerging talent, Ryan Tedder, whose credits include Mary J Blige, JLO, Timbaland and Natasha Bedingfield.

Leona Lewis was the first X Factor winner with international potential. In December 2006 she won the X Factor and had a massive Christmas Number 1 hit with 'A Moment Like This', the most downloaded track in the UK of last year, with an amazing 50,000 downloads in the first half hour alone. This immediately thrust Leona to having the biggest ever debut single for a female artist. As Simon Cowell simply put it: “She’s mesmerising. I literally couldn’t believe how good she was.” People were quick to compare Leona to the likes of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, which is good company to be in, but Bleeding Love is set to remind people that she has her own unique sound.

Leona set off to the US in February of this year to perform an intimate industry only showcase hosted by the legendary Clive Davis. Leona has since has been working with Dallas Austin, Soulshock and Carlin, Jam and Lewis, Walter Afanasieff and Salaam Remi. Between them they have worked with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Usher, TLC and Michael Jackson. Every track on her forthcoming debut album has the potential to be a single. The album has been executively produced by Simon Cowell and Clive Davis. - HMV

Well, Leona earned the #1 song for 2007 in the UK and unlike past UK reality show winners she is getting a chance to make it here in the US with the release of this tune but she was to shoot a new video for the song since I saw of her doing the clip in Times Square in New YOrk.

Leona's doing well in Australia as well. She's #7 up two places this week in the ARIA singles chart
Wow thats pretty good. If she gets a no.1 somewhere else that would be impressive because there is less hype there although they probably market the success here but who would listen to that if it is based on what the UK public when you see what sort of music we have :puke2:

Can someone tell me which page the year-end album chart is on? In the meantime - I'll do a search page by page!!!!

Thanks

Norma

OK - found it - page 12 if anyone else is looking!

Edited by Norma_Snockers

She's already been #1 in other places... New Zealand and Croatia, not sure about anyone else yet.

She's been number 1 with Bleeding Love in 8 countries and top 5 in another 7 (some charts are sales based, others airplay and sales and others airplay only). And in many of those she's still climbing - should be released to all the major European markets in early January as well (Germany, Holland, Italy, France).
