I think that list demonstrates quite how out of touch Radio 1 has become with the public. The Pigeon Detectives in the top 10? Come on...
There's something clearly wrong with the list as the poster above mentions. Take Leona Lewis and Bleeding Love for example - it's been A-listed for the best part of 9 weeks plus B listing for I think a couple of weeks before that, and it doesn't even reach 81 plays to make the top 48? That's only just over 1 play a day. Doesn't add up.
Radio 1 suck. The DJs are $h!t too especially Chris 'I Think I'm Hilarious But Really I'm A Stupid Annoying t***' Moyles.

Awful awful list with Robyn the only exception in the top 10

I mean Holloways Generator is on nearly every time I switch on Radio 1 so I'm not surprised to see it there but the fact is that the song has been released twice and still hasn't reached top 10 in the UK...

Holloways did chart pretty well tho :).

I think this proves how indie biased they really are too

Good thing too, but they should realise there's other types of guitar musicians out there who are not indie, and play them a lot as well.

No not a good thing, a terrible thing. No variety whatsoever. No wonder everyone seems to be hating on Radio 1 nowadays

I think being A listed guarantees 20 plays a week....

Im surprised Fratellis- Chelsea Dagger isn't on there for the 2007 list

It's because it's tagged differently.

I've looked at this a while ago and there are various mistakes. Further down the list you'll have

Rihanna - Umbrella (ft Jay Z)

Rihanna ft Jay Z - Umbrella

And they all count as different tracks. It's flawed.

So out of the 50 Most Played Tracks on Radio 1 in 2007:

#01 : 6

#02-05: 13

#06-10: 13

#11-20: 10

#21-40: 6

#41-75: 2

I like Indie/Alternative/Rock music more than most people on Buzzjack, but what excuse to Radio 1 have for keep playing minor hits by The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Razorlight, 30 Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park, Armand Van Helden.... it is not representative of new music in 2007 at all.

As Morrissey once wrote & sung about Radio 1 back in 1986 from the song Panic "Burn down the Discos, hang the wretched DJ's, because the music that they constantly play, says nothing to me about my life, hang the wretched DJ's..."
