Hey don't attack PJ Harvey :P She's a Brits veteran, has been nominated numerous times, is immensely talented and certainly isn't 'cool' or 'hip - maybe they're just including to appreciate her as a wonderful talent. ;)

GA haven't been bigger than Sugas this year- sales speak for themselves

think tours as well :P

think tours as well :P

Music wise though -_-

it is music wise though. It's their music performed live in front of thousands of paying people, just like thousands of people buy their albums. (250,000 people buy an album hear Call The Shots, 250,000 people will be seeing Call The Shots live, same song, same music etc etc)

This is why the whole who is better than who debate is a load of nonsense and gets on my nerves. Success and achievements can be recognised in a number of different ways, and not all solely focussed on album sales using that as the only way of acknowledging success. Otherwise the Spice Girls reunion is a complete and utter shambolic flop if that is so, because the tour has NOTHING to do with their music so those ticket sales must be absolute flukes (I think not).

So this is why a Girls Aloud fan and a Sugababes fan should hug each other and get along  Pop would be far poorer with out one or the other. I mean come on who else would you really call proper pop nowadays other than McFly ().

I agree but what I want to like say is that the Brits aren't really based on tour sales are they :o

they're not just based on CD sales though :P Best Live Act :P To be honest the Brits committee or whatever they're called try to make themselves look up to date when they draw up shortlists. Not since Geri Halliwell had the legs has the Brits been any good :(

A band doesnt soley release albums, Girls Aloud are nominated for 'best band'.

I have no idea what that last post meant :o but what I mean is that if it was to do with tours they'd be up for live act not a single or whatever else

Change album sales are much less than TIMW (last studio), why should they be rewarded for that?

Incase anyone hadnt noticed, two girl bands are allowed to be nominated in the best band category. Its not as though GA took their place.

Anyway i agree with the nominations this year, the babes are in the right category.

Also, if the sugababes were best band because of their album, surely they should have been nominated for best album? What exactly does best band mean to you?

Edited by Robintime11

If you mean me, tbh I think both should be up I wouldn't be overly bothered who won, they've both had different forms of success this year. I don't agree that the Editors are up for it at all

^^ yes but in my opinion, the babes success this year has been About you now and not much else really so i think they were nominated in the right category.

As a band, i think the babes have had much better years.

They would have definately deserved to be in the catagory for Taller. ^_^

You're wrong, its not just albums and single that makes a band - its touring too. Thats what makes a 'best group' nominee.

^^ i agree, i think the best band has to be about more than just how many songs you sell. Its how big an influence you are in the UK.
