September 8, 200816 yr Did anyone listen? :o I didd. I'm not keen at all really. Maybe it needs more listens, i'm not sure. But gahh they've sold out so much now. I hope the album has some heavy riffs on it.
September 9, 200816 yr Author m8K28GXcpP8 For anyone that missed it. The opening piano riff reminds me a lot of a Doves song called 'Melody Calls'. I have to admit like, after a couple of listens this isn't great. It's good that they've tried to go for a completely new sound and a new direction but it just doesn't work as well imo. Disappointing But ah well, im more than prepared to give the album a fair shout, who knows, this may well be one of the weaker songs from it
September 9, 200816 yr Author According to wikipedia, the album's called Slipway Fires. Not sure whether thats confirmed or not
October 3, 200816 yr Slipway Fires: 1. Wire To Wire 2. Hostage Of Love 3. Tabloid Lover 4. Burberry Blue Eyes 5. North London Trash 6. Stinger 7. You And The Rest 8. Monster Boots 9. 60 Thompson 10. Blood For Wild Blood 11. House http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i313/jimjam89/WITM8.jpg I went to see them at Kentish Town Forum last night and they played about 8 of the new songs. They all sounded really good, especially Burberry Blue Eyes, North London Trash and Tabloid Lover. They sounded like a mix of Up All Night and Razorlight and with a new sound going on too so it will be interesting to hear them on the record.
October 3, 200816 yr Author Guess 'Slipway Fires' is the confirmed name then  Sounds like its worth a listen, but Wire to Wire the first song on it? Not much of an opening track imo
October 30, 200816 yr Don't know whether I can be bothered to listen to the album again. I listened to it a few hours ago, and it totally passed me by. I'd call it Dad Rock more than anything. They've gone so bland. :( I was hoping for some of the old Razorlight on this album, but it's just a progression of the last album.
November 3, 200816 yr Not keen at all on first listen :( Some terrible lyrics and some good lyrics that only Razorlight would use but apart from two standout tracks I'm disappointed so far. The fact that the Up All Night album immediatly follows it on my iTunes emphasises it even more :(
January 12, 200916 yr The TV advertising has started to pay off and the album jumps from #123 to #81 this week
