as usual you're talking a bunch of c**p. Rehab was B-listed on Radio 1 and A-listed on Radio 2 and had huge airplay (it went top3). And yeah, it spent loads of weeks on the top40 and I'm sick to death of it, not to mention we got it over here about 5 months later so it was overplayed for me again.

Excuse me

Radio 1 never playlisted this (UK CD1):

Radio 1 playlisted this monstrosity instead (UK CD2):

To put it mildly, not one of Jay-Z's best ever raps as it did its best to kill the song. Therefore Radio 1 never playlisted the track in the form that it was on the corresponding album or that has come to be loved and regarded as a classic.

If you disagree with me again, all I can do is reference you to May2007 edition of The Word magazine with an excellent lengthy piece "What is the point of Radio1?" by legendary music magazine writer and sometimes broadcaster David Hepworth (ex- Old Grey Whistle Test, VH1 Round and Around, etc) as to their idiotic playlists, the way they turned the "flagship" institution of the Sunday Top40 countdown into a complete joke, the slavish adoption of USA Billboard Top10 Urban tracks being added to Radio 1's playlists and most damming their complete ineptitude with regards promoting new British artists leaving Radio 2 to promote them instead and break their records only for Radio 1 to hijack the bandwagon when it is up and rolling.

as far as I know, they playlisted the original. I went to check my archives and there's no mention of Jay-Z or that it was a remix. And even if it was the remix played (which I never heard on the station during daytime, only heard the original), Rehab was still playlisted

I must say, I do remember a big who-ha at the time that Radio 1 didn't playlist it. It was overplayed though somehow, in that it was overliked and just completely squeezed all of the goodness out of it.

Feeling :w00t:

Yeah I did enjoy it until everyone was hammering the song. Don't really wanna listen to the chart and have a song from 2006 still on it.

H'Two'O don't appear to have been added to iTunes yet, although it is certainly available to buy from 7Digital right now.

The original, non-remixed Rehab was most definitely playlisted at some point on Radio 1, around the time the song was soon to chart in the UK. I definitely remember hearing them play it a LOT during the time it exploded.
yes!!! that songs deserves to be number one, and it's going really fast so far
