Gemma Bissix is planning to leave EastEnders in the summer, say reports.

 

The actress, who plays maneater Clare Bates, will leave the show when her character's selfish intentions are exposed, reports The Mirror.

 

A source said: "Clare has been working her way round the men of Walford for the past few months but what she had thought was a masterplan to bag the man of her dreams soon gets out of hand.

 

"She is forced to flee as it is clear she is not welcome in Albert Square anymore."

 

Bissix, 24, first starred in the BBC One soap in 1993, but departed five years later with her on-screen father Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley).

 

She returned to the show in February following a stint in Hollyoaks as the villainous Clare Devine.

I'm glad, really. Her character is really amusing sometimes but there's only so much you can do with a gold-digger who has literally nothing about her but selfishness.

Clare is now confirmed to be leaving.

EastEnders hardly gave her anything to work with. Her character is EXACTLY the same as her character in Hollyoaks.

 

But it's a shame, Gemma Bissix is actually a really good actress.

i agree her charactor is very similar to the one she played in hollyoaks but i dint expect he rto leave as she has just arrived

 

im loving heather this week and its lovely to see how much shirley really does care fo rher its a great freinsdship and the writers must be eurovsion fans as its been mentioned a few times this week in the show!!!

 

I loved jean tonigh and im happy with the show overall its brilliant but i wish they would use jean more

Sean annoys me.

I don't think they need to use Jean more; for a character with no storylines of her own, she's in it a hell of a lot! It doesn't matter though because she's a very skilled actress. :heehee: At times in yesterday's ep, though, I was scared Sean would punch her!

It was obvious that Clare was leaving, wasn't she confirmed to be returning to Hollyoaks months ago?

I personally believe

Gemma Bissix's leaving might have more to do with the return of Charlie Brooks.

Having a gold-digging character like Claire was all fine to begin with, until the producers realised Brooks was willing to come back as Janine, who was frankly a more popular gold-digger. They'd have struggled to have both Claire and Janine going about pulling the same tricks.

 

Much as I didn't like Clare Cunningham in Hollyoaks, I wouldn't mind now if Bissix were to return there, the show needs a good proper b**ch.

 

I'm not upset about Clare leaving whatsoever. She annoys me. Bring back Janine, I say!

Chelsea's acting annoys me.

I don't like Chelsea's character. I'm putting this in spoiler as some people may not have seen it last night, and they want it as a surprise.

 

 

Remember last night, when Patrick was helping Libby get home, and then Chelsea want "What about me!". She's such a snob.

how is she a snob, and when you look at it from her point of view it does seem to be about everyone else.

she was fantastic last night!

I actually think Libby is a better actress then Chelsea.
