I remember seeing this oddball 60's influenced trio live in Brighton in 2006 and it was absolutely excellent...as good as The Revelations are, vocally these girls are much better and really they deserve to have had at least three UK top ten hits from this album...as it stands, they haven't had any...

Best Tracks:

We Are The Pipettes

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice a few of David's countdown popping up in here :P I've always loved Scottish radio friendly band Texas and this is a brilliant collection of hits...they are less of a one trick pony than a lot of people think, especially their material before 1997 when they became huge...this is highly recommended!

This was the second album from the Scouse trio and it's a really good, polished and well produced pop album featuring some excellent tracks. It was their second UK No.1 album and it deserved it! I bought this album on the same day as something in the top 5! (any guesses :P)

The first of a few 'Hits' compilations to appear on this countdown...German DJ Sash! had a good ear for a No.2 single between 1996-2000 with five of his hits stalling in the runners up spot...all of those, plus other brilliant singles are on this album which I still listen to regularly now!

45. Kylie Minogue - Fever

http://www.girl.com.au/img/kylie_fever_cover.jpg

If Light Years was the return of 'pop Kylie' then Fever was the evolution of 'Dance Kylie'...gone away was the camp cheese of the previous album and replaced by excellent pop dance tracks, and one of the biggest albums of her career!!! I loved this throughout 2001 and 2002!

44. Girls Aloud - The Sound Of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Music/Pix/pictures/2006/12/14/GirlsAloud.jpg

All of their studio albums have been of varying quality, though all are amongst the bottom half of my favourite albums ever! However, this Hits compilation is where you see just what a fantastic band Girls Aloud really are. I bought the 2 disc version with some rather great bonus tracks on it too (Singapore anyone )

Best Tracks:

Love Machine

Life Got Cold

Sound Of The Underground
