Amazing feat for them. I hope I have some of your top six. :D it was chart week 10th April 1999...I remember listening to it eagerly because the previous week they had been at No.2 and No.5...I was hoping that both albums would be top 5 and then they announced this top 5: 1 Corrs - Talk On Corners 2 Corrs - Forgiven, Not Forgotten 3 Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails 4 Britney Spears - Baby One More Time 5 Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting You very impressive

April 12, 200817 yr Author cheers Simon! Red Book is a lot more pop than the others...I'd get Careful What You Wish For...The Hush is patchy in places...the best tracks on it are the singles (In Our Lifetime, Summer Son, When We Are Together)
April 12, 200817 yr Author 6. The Corrs - Borrowed Heaven http://www.lacoctelera.com/arthex/imagen/corrs-borrowed-heaven.jpg If In Blue was more pop than their previous albums, The Corrs 2004 album was a semi return to the type of music that brought them success in the first place. This album is quite experimental with Andrea's rapping (!) track Humdrum gaining a lot of attention in reviews of this album. A duet with Bono was also applauded by critics, though the weakest track on here for me. This album proved that though the band had perhaps released their best work already, they should not be counted out as they could still be relevant in this decade. Summer Sunshine was an excellent radio friendly pop track while the other singles Angel and Long Night were also brilliant for different reasons. Lyrically, the album is a lot more deep than In Blue, considering what the family went through between 2000-2004; starting families and losing their mother for example...a really excellent album that deserved more success than it achieved... Track by track rating: 1. Summer Sunshine 10/10 2. Angel 10/10 3. Hideaway 9/10 4. Long Night 9/10 5. Goodbye 9/10 6. Time Enough For Tears 6/10 7. Humdrum 9/10 8. Even If 8/10 9. April 12, 200817 yr Author 5. Christina Aguilera - Stripped http://connection.christina-aguilera.net/discography/stripped.jpg Having been a huge fan of her debut album I was disappointed at Dirrty which though an alright song, was not quite the comeback I was hoping for for Xtina...I decided to buy Stripped anyway around the time of its release because it had received good reviews and I was intrigued to see if the rest of it was any good. In short, I was blown away at the album. It sounded so fresh and contemporary and made the songs on her debut album sound ten years out of date, despite coming out only 3 years before...the album mixes epic ballads such as Beautiful and The Voice Within, with excellent angry tracks such as Fighter and Can't Hold Us Down...the only thing it deserved was to be a UK No.1 album, but as it sold around 2 million copies here, its not the end of the world that it missed the top spot...a truly revolutionary album, which has surely inspired some of the other albums in this countdown (Nelly, Gwen etc...) showing that a new image can work wonders...usually I wouldn't endorse 20 track albums but almost everything on here is incredible...what's ironic is that this album perhaps may have worked as a double album whereas Back To Basics would have been better as a one disc 12 track collection... Track by track rating: 1. Stripped Pt.1 8/10 2. Can't Hold Us Down 10/10 3. Walk Away 10/10 4. Fighter 10/10 5. Infatuation (interlude) N/A 6. Infatuation 8/10 7. Loving Me For Me (interlude) N/A 8. April 12, 200817 yr Author 4. Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway http://www.extremeindieradio.com/playlist/pictures/az_3128_Breakaway_Kelly%20Clarkson.jpg Early 2005 I heard Since U Been Gone and thought it was a brilliant song from an artist I hadn't given much of my time to before...I thought her first two singles were good but would never have bought Thankful when it first came out. Anyway, I bought this album on its release date in July 2005 not expecting much so I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the songs on this album. It starts almost perfectly with four amazing pop songs, all of which have become classic singles in the last three years...the middle songs are slightly rockier but still great while the quality picks up at the end again. A really stunning second album and a deserved 1.5 million seller in the UK. All of these songs sound stunning live too...a truly classic pop rock album, and probably the best of its genre. April 12, 200817 yr Author 3. The Corrs - Talk On Corners http://cover6.cduniverse.com/MuzeAudioArt/570/574584.jpg Late 1998 and I was given a CD player (my first) for Xmas, along with a copy of Talk On Corners by The Corrs...I'd heard of the band and I quite liked Dreams and What Can I Do? but I never thought I'd like the album. Anyway, I decided to listen to it anyway and it quickly dawned on me why the album sold 3 million copies in the UK...its absolutely stunning...the singles are amongst the finest pop songs of the 1990s while the album tracks are just as good. I still listen to this album regularly and considering its over ten years old, its certainly aged well. When I saw the band live in 2004, I was in awe of them, as they have always been my favourite band...hearing some of these songs live was an incredible experience as I know every word of every song...just a stunning album and like Kelly Clarkson, an act who didn't suffer 'the sophomore slump'! The only reason its not No.1 is because Love Gives Love Takes and Little Wing brought the standard down a bit... Track by track rating: 1. What Can I Do 9/10 2. So Young 10/10 3.
