February 3, 201114 yr I actually considered this myself :o What an AMAZING entry again, Dalisska!
February 18, 201114 yr Author For BJSC 32, Dalisska has decided to use a tactic similar to Ireland. Gathering four music experts from the four regions of Dalisska: Hallin, Uramazia, Dalyndra and Sarleaf...they'll each choose a song to mentor but only one will be chosen to represent Dalisska. In other words, I'll have four possible songs that I'll post later. :P (although I'll only post four if I'm uncertain which to send, there isn't anything that looks definite yet but if there is I probably won't post more than two) Edited February 18, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
February 18, 201114 yr Author edit: I changed my mind I'll keep them a secret. :kink: Don't want people getting bored of them before the contest starts :P Edited February 18, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
March 15, 201114 yr Author So, after what could easily be seen as Dalisska's worst ever performance. Dalisska will have to send something extraordinary to the next contest to get back lost face. (or whatever face we actually had :drama: :nocheer:) This will be tough... :( On another topic, out of interest which of these do you prefer? Dalisska Osyraa (O-see-ra) Cavaha (Ka-va-ha) Kopapas (Ko-papas) Etronash (Et-row-nash) Ripone (Rip-own) Clorafieldon (Clore-a-field-on) Jistoria Alzavia Nubtry (Nub-tree) Vulpixel (Vul-pixel) Farree (Far-ee) Dahtyp (Da-tip) Mt. Pelugazon (Mount Pell-ooo-ga-zun) Qava (Cave-a) Eophiax (E-o-phee-axe) Eophia (E-o-phee-a) I have a sad past time of thinking up country names (although I haven't done it in a while, these are old).....there are others but I don't really like them that much. Personally I still prefer Dalisska, but there is always the temptation to compete under a different name, I suppose it seems a little stale after a while. I competed in another contest as: The Kingdom of Lyuut. I might re-enter that contest again. (I left it a few contests ago) Edited March 15, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
March 21, 201114 yr Author Dalisska Daily News A figure was seen being escorted with a blanket over their head into the Dalisskan BJSC Centre this evening. A face wasn't seen however an eyewitness claims they caught a glimpse of blonde hair. The eyewitness then said that she could feel it in her bones and that the hair was what she would call "Winning Hair". This wasn't the first however, as countless covered people have been seen entering the building over the last few days. The Dalisskan BJSC Commitee are desperate to keep all potential artists under wraps until the contest begins. Mystery and Intrigue. :o Edited March 21, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
April 6, 201114 yr Author So since the semis have been posted I'll post the video for Dalisska's entry here: jI8gEU8-i8A Loved the song ever since I heard it first.
May 15, 201114 yr Author Potential entries for Dalisska in BJSC 33: Kc3oXZMTvdU OelDxGAeGWI FxSNMtEg9p0 What do you think? I'll most likely be picking one of these.....but which one thats the question. :o
May 15, 201114 yr I like Body Music the best out of those three on first listen. That is quite an interesting track but seeing as I'm not that in tune with what proves popular in BJSC, I'd take that with a pinch of salt.
May 20, 201114 yr Author Another song: http://soundcloud.com/downtown-artists/chl...waby-racing-car Chloe Swapy - Race Car Not sure if it would do well though.... I want to find something completely new though. edit: I do have a song I really like at the moment, but I have slight reservations because the artist isn't new to the contest. That said I don't think the majority of people would hear this song even if the artist has been in buzzjack before. Edited May 20, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
May 24, 201114 yr Author Austra's Lose It is the Free Single of the Week on UK iTunes right now :o Wow, I think that's the first time I've ever sent a song that did something unexpected like that. Should give Austra a lot of publicity now. On another note, I had to check up the lyrics of cameo lover to make sure I heard something correctly: This is nonstop baby You've got me going crazy You're heavier than i knew But i don't want no other You're my cameo love Only here for a moment or two You stay inside that bubble With all of your trouble In your black hole (and you're the black hole) You turn from the skies You dance with your demise I'll be here when you come home We've all gotta break down Let me come and break down there with you Cause everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart and let me pull you away Everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! open up your heart Open up your heart and let me pull you out of here I've got high hopes baby But all you do is take me down to depths that i never knew You've got two arms baby They're all tangled in ladies of the black skies posing blue Let go of your mother And turn to your brother! Not a long gone lover's noose (Not long gone for a snooze) Sometimes baby the hardest part of breaking is leaving pieces behind you Oh we've all gotta get by Let me come and hold you high, with you Everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart and let me pull you out Everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart and let me pull you out of here Open up your heart to me! The sun won't shine if you're not looking Baby love is all that you need When everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! Open, open, open Everyday's like talking in your sleep! Love is like a silhouette in dreams! Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart and let me pull you out Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart! Open up your heart Open up your heart! Open up your heart Turns out I heard it fine, those arms really are tangled in ladies. This didn't come from an official source though....so it's most likely just someones interpretation of it. (Bold parts are what I think it is) Edited May 24, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
May 28, 201114 yr Author Dalisskan News Report Kimbra is said to be very distraught after failing to qualify from the semis. On exiting the green room she was said to be teary eyed and mumbling about letting Dalisska down. Don't worry Kimbra, we still love you! :cheer: As for the next contest, Dalisska is preparing to rethink it's strategy once again in what is definitely a trying time for the country Edited May 28, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
June 19, 201114 yr Author Dalisska's latest entry to BJSC 35: The Toxic Avenger Feat Annie - Alien Summer _QHbrUst9NI Really like this song at the moment
August 7, 201113 yr Author Been a while since I posted here.... Well Dalisska DNQed in BJSC 36, and honestly I don't feel that surprised. My head wasn't really in the game this edition. :P Still thinking about our BJSC 37 entry, I keep hearing songs that I go "wow I think that would be really popular at BJSC......but then I think "WAIT.....do I actually like this?" The answer to that is usually a vague "sorta" or in worse scenario an actual "woah no!" Still, I'm looking through music blogs at the minute trying to find something fresh but either I'm looking in the wrong places or my standards have gone through the roof because most of what I'm hearing is so bleh. I might end up pulling a song out of my back catalogue at this rate. I'll admit I'm a bit impatient when searching through music blogs....usually if the song doesn't hook me in the first 15-20 seconds or so I leave. That's so bad I know but sometimes even from the start of a song it just doesn't feel right. Still, we have plenty of time before the next contest even opens confirmations....so I'm sure something will pop up. I wish I could have a national final, but they don't work over at BJSC. :drama: Edited August 7, 201113 yr by Sabrewulf
August 8, 201113 yr You should go with whatever you are keen on. I really wouldn't advise sending something that you think others will like, when you're not sure about it yourself. Some people here have tastes that most don't share, so we rarely do well. But at least we send what we like. There was a time when this contest was full with pre-releases and it was really crap to DNQ or do shit in the final when you're competing against songs that everybody already knows. I think you're better off doing crap sending a song you like to a contest where the quality is at the best as it has ever been. I wouldn't think too much about what you send. If you like a song, you should send it. I did it this time thinking I wouldn't qualify, and I finished 2nd! And I'm totally with you about the impatient thing! I go through a lot of indie blogs and some of the stuff is just awful. If nothing exciting happens after ten seconds then I just leave the site!
August 8, 201113 yr Sending what you think other people will like almost always backfires - don't do it! If you're not keen on it then why should you expect anybody else to be? Hence why I just pluck the highest song from my personal chart at the time these days - if it flops then at least I love it and I won't be thinking 'why on earth did I send that'? Dalisska will win one day if you keep at it, your 12 and 10 points went to the top two this month so clearly your tastes are becoming more in sync with what does well now, it's only a matter of time before your next huge smash!
