I think Estelle, Maria and Joss will probably be my next three entries but I'm getting Estelle out the way because it's a future single and the others are a 2006 album track and a MAJOR flop of a single.

I'm sorry I haven't opened it yet. I meant to at 4pm, then I was busy with my results. Then I was going to do it at 5 but I was still thinking about my results. Then I was going to do it at 6 but dinner was ready so I'll start typing it up now and it will have to be posted at a random time. :drama:

Estelle is said to be "very embarrassed" at her 24th place finish in Quotosibb. Estelle was representing the previous winners Quotosibb and the result is said to have been a blow to the confidence of Quotosibb officials.

"We truly thought Estelle had a song worthy of a top 10 finish and top 15 at least, so we're shocked at this result and we're not sure if we're up to selecting artists to represent us any more."

Estelle was seen to be hiding tears as she left the building yesterday and we've been unable to speak to her as of yet, but a close friend of hers says she is "very embarrassed and upset at the result".

Rumours are now circulating that Beverley Knight may be asked to return next month to see if she can get a second top 10 finish for the country at least. Other artists being suggested are Tamia, Sara Bareilles and two-time reject Maria Lawson.

I think Maria Lawson has a nice song with "Black Mona Lisa" but I don't know how it would do. I think Joss might flop as well because she's not very popular on this forum for some reason. :(

Quotosibb have today announced that Ellie Campbell or Sara Bareilles could also be their next representative in a bid to send "something different" to their first two entries.

Thanks. I was kind of leaning towards the first two, I thought I should send someone a bit different to my last entries. Not that Beverley was bad, of course, I just need to send a different kind of song.

 

I'm still looking for opinions of course, a 8-12 from FSR Rontvia is good, but that alone wouldn't be a great result. :P

I can't remember, polyhex is saying 2001. (but they also have the title listed as "I Want You Back" which is quite the opposite) She did release two other singles in 1999 though, but I don't think they're as good.

oh yeah 2001 sounds about right...it's very Britney Spears/Mandy Moore sound

I think the Sara Bareilles song would do well, it's very safe and is a nice song, in contrast to the Ellis Campbell tune which I'm really not feeling but then again some people might like it.

 

I really feel you should send Maria Lawson with 'Black Mona Lisa', it's obviously a song you really like which imo is the most important thing and if you don't send it you'll be forever wondering how it could ave done. I reckon that, although it's not quite a winning song, that it would do very well with a solid top ten placing ;)
