Oh, that's very good. Shame that god-awful Katy Perry will knock them back down tomorrow most likely. :(

Nah I think Katy will only reach Top 20 this week... Next week she will DEFINATELY be number 1!

Yeah but The Script only made Top 30 this week with TMWCBM when they reached the Top 3... but they only had 2 days sales so top 20 is where i think Katy will get after 4 days sale...

 You keep repeating your hate about the song in every single post...

And then you say the hate about the Saturdays is boring?

Every post? Two in this thread, more like.

Saturdays up to #7 on iTunes, overtaking NeYo. Looking good...

2 posts in a non related KP thread is still a lot

And you've done lot of hating in the itunes thread and in her dedicated threads as well... We got it now lol

LOL search for the dictionnary definion of "debate" then. You say everywhere that the song is AWFUL, that is "personnal taste", that is hardly a debate...

Fair enough though if you don't like the song, but you don't have to repeat it everytime you mention the song.

Don't you find boring when the Saturdays haters keep repeating themselves?

No, I don't. And stop saying 'haters', we're in the bloody Bronx!

^We're not in the Bronx I meant. :P

New profile on the girls from The Guardian:

WHO ARE THEY?

A new girl band who are hoping to reach the top without the catfights or Premiership boyfriends.

WHAT'S THE SPIN?

The quintet's record label, Fascination (home to teen pin-ups The Jonas Brothers), reckons that The Saturdays are 'a five-woman whirlwind' who will put some fun back into the charts.

AND THE REALITY?

Well, the garish outfits and irritatingly catchy debut single are in place. And with Girls Aloud and the Sugababes (11 albums between them) approaching pop veteran status, The Saturdays' timing is spot-on. Some will dismiss them as manufactured disco dollies, but they seem unfazed: 'We're a proper, full-on girl band and we love it,' they say.

WHAT DO THEY SOUND LIKE?

More Rihanna than Girls Aloud. Their first single, If This Is Love (set to chart on Sunday), is a slick, electro-soul number built around a sample from Eighties synth duo Yazoo. The vocals are a little shrill in places, but the overall feel is upbeat and feisty.

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Two of the girls, Essex lasses Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman, were members of S Club Juniors in 2002. They continued to sing after that ill-fated project fell apart and eventually hooked up with Londoners Vanessa White and Mollie King, plus Irish singer Una Healy, a guitarist who has already released a solo album in her homeland and is regarded as the band's most sensible member.

AND THEN?

The group got their big break when they supported Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up tour earlier this year. They have since recorded their debut album, as yet untitled, and are planning to play live at a London showcase when it comes out in October.

WHAT NEXT?

Chart success without the tantrums and tittletattle, hopefully. Frankie says: 'We're not models who can't sing. We all sing and we all dance. No one's telling us what to do. We're all different because we're just ourselves - and that's the way it should be.'

utter bollox...

for eg, where did they get the 40k from for promotion?.. as if their backers would give them that with a free reign!

#7?...... thats poor..

Lol it evidently isnt poor when high profile stars have struggled to reach the top end of the top 10 recently. I would of preferred no.5 to no.7 but it will definatley grant a second single which will be the far superior 'Up'.

But dont think Frankie is speaking literally, i mean every band has rules and a scheduale. And remember, only a small portion will of been spent on this single, just a little less on the second single and the most on the album.

Edited by coolnav

Agreed. I do hate how this 400k thing has become some sort of negative, as if the huge majority of stars don't get that or more spent on them.

Also #7 is pretty good; #7 last week (Madonna!) sold 19,000 copies which is normally enough to get you into the Top 5. And it's #7 again in today's mids apparently.

'We're not models who can't sing. We all sing and we all dance. No one's telling us what to do. '

Oh PUH-LEEEEEEEEZEEE.. No one's telling them what to do??? What complete and utter cr@p.... They have a legion of managers, PR, record company suits and marketing people telling them exactly what to do..... Frankie's trying to make out like they're this little gang going around the country in a transit van doing their own thing, playing where they want to play..... There was this speech that a lot of bands in the early 90s said to mags like NME and Meloday Maker - "we do what we do and if anyone else likes it, that's a bonus".. Utter bollocks then, even BIGGER bollocks now....

Absolutely NO big record company is gonna invest 400K and just let a bunch of people go off and do whatever they want..... Ridiculous notion....

That quote was quite clearly referring to their personalites, and nobody telling them how to act, them just being themselves...

.... but even so, surely thats taken as read!!! i mean...

Well lets what's there when you open the tabloids when they need some extra publicity :kink:

Although I hadn't heard or read ANYTHING about it :/ The girls performed on Nickolodeon on Thursday:

Performance

Interview:

Performance was mimed (I don't recall anyone ever singing live on that channel, mind you) but good enough. Choreography has got better and they actually all look REALLY good. Great clothes etc, much better than the coloured outfits from the video and early performances. Cba watching the interview. :heehee:

I'm also liking that The Saturdays' people upload all of their performances on youtube (in HQ too). Saves the usual hassle of fans doing it and having to wait ages etc. Good work, Fascination!
