So, missing from this top 40, Coldplay (Violet Hill) is in the top 10 there is Coldplay (Viva La Vida), Nelly and Duffy (Warwick Ave), Sara Bareilles, Pigeon Detectives, Neyo and Ashlee Simpson are also missing. Meanwhile, Lil` Wayne, would be in the top 50 if we put download onlys in. So, currently there are 9 download only tracks in the top 50 (technically Violet Hill, is available physically via a free 7 inch copy, in this week`s NME).

The saga of Coldplay has been cleared up, after checks yesterday by OCC. Both tracks will be eligible. The speculation of Buy One Get One Free, concerns the album, which is offering a free track, to those that purchase the album via download, itself.

No, it`s a regular list, but doesn`t include Downloads, that haven`t yet been released physically. Get it? It is a Tues - Thurs thing, only available through various Radio Stations computer links.

So physicals + downloads but, no downloads only :) OK get it

Question?

Is that the same James Fox from Fame Academy and represented Britain in the Eurovision Song Contest a couple of years ago, as it has been bugging me for a while.

Absolutely! I think this could be why the single is proving quite popular. I was amazed when the pre-orders in HMV of this even outsold both Madonna, and Kylie! It might even go much higher.

Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music is back in the top 40 in the official chart but it's not here although the downloads only songs aren't there. Strange. :o

It probably won`t figure in the mids top 40, tomorrow either.

Just for interest the top 10, at HMV over the last 2 days

01 Kylie - In My Arms

02 Madonna - 4 minutes

03 James Fox/Cardiff City

04 Usher - Love in this Club

05 Estelle - American Boy

06 September - Cry For You

07 Sam Sparro - Black and Gold

08 Will I. Am - Heartbreaker

09 Wiley - Wear My Rolex

10 Low - Flo rida

If it`s anything to go by, Wiley can not possibly even touch Number 1, at all. The sales of all versions of Kylie`s,"In My Arms", are all combined, as are Madonna`s. I should add, the above top ten are of course, totally physical sales. A mathematical equation, on a download only chart (where the physical is selling better), is too divide the download position by 3, to give a very rough estimate, of a combined position. This can also work on a physical only chart, where the download is selling better, i.e. Wiley at number 9 divided by 3 = 3, Kylie (on iTunes) 36 divided by 3 = 12. If you go further with Sam Sparro, 7 divided by 3 = 2.333recurring, so = 2. It won`t always work with physicals and downloads, that are almost 50/50 combined, sometimes if you divide by 2, it works, as in Will I. Am here, number 8 physical divided by 2 = number 4. Try with James Fox/Cardiff F.C. (on downloads it only ranks at 81 on iTunes), divide that by 3 = 27 (so it could go that high, by mathematics).

It`s a good thing to know though :D Just imagine if you regularly take part, in a prediction game...if you loop into a download only top 200, it`s possible to work out a lot of the prospective positions, and then slip in the missing ones, by looking at the previous weeks combined chart.

Is there a reason why Coldplay was DSQed

I spoke to a colleague, this evening, he stated that a final decision for the download only track has not been reached. But on checking, with another source, I was told that both tracks by Coldplay are likely to be disqualified because of a Buy One, Get One Free new offer. So, that could be it, with "Viva La Vida", being disqualified too. I will find out more tomorrow, watch this space.....

Thanks for that info, davetaylor. Please keep us informed

I want Coldplay to be DSQ, but only because if they are in danger of reaching #1 it would mess up people's physical number 1s collection

I'm pleased Kylie is top 10. I hope that f*cking Coldplay songs won't knock her out of the top 10.

Dave what do you think, will James Fox climb or rather fall by the weekend?

I like this much better than the mids because theres no COLDPLAY :yahoo: :cheer: :w00t: :P

It is more likely to fall, but it might hang around a couple of weeks, because the Cup Final is not this week. From Mon 12th May (next week), we will probably find that rather dodgy "Do The Ayatollah", by the Cardiff City Fans selling too!
