Seeing as we're going for 26 as well...we could have 12 qualify from each semi with the 13th placed song with higher points than the other 13th placed song going through, unless Ashton and Quotosibb both qualify in the event of odd numbers, in which case we could just have 12 from both. I have to say Peter, I'm really loving this idea of 2 semis now! :o We could easily go over 40 countries now...I think the limit would have to be drawn at 51 countries though - with 25 in each semi and the winner.

There are always going to be groups that are considered stronger than others, but rarely because there are more great songs than qualification berths, usually because there are more songs that are considered potential winners in one group than the other if you see what I mean ^_^ I don't think we'll ever get to a point where there are too many amazing songs to go through!

That sounds excellent, I find new ESC rules more fair and catchier :o :D

 

And plus - making recap video isn't so hard if you have spare time after exams :P

I hope it goes ahead! As for having a "stronger" semi final, with 12 songs out of 20 qualifying, there will be more chance of a song qualifying than in a semi of 30 with 16 qualifying anyway!

 

One thing I would suggest is that the final number is 25 (or 23 or 27) in order to have an even number of qualifiers from each semi.

So we'd have 18 in each semi-final, with 12 getting through from each semi-final. Whereas if we get 37 people to sign up, Ashton don't automatically qualify and get get 36 countries in the semi-finals, with 13 out of 18 getting through from each semi-final.

 

If I'm not thinking properly and I've got something wrong please explain it to me. I'm not feeling confident with anything I'm thinking/saying today because of the pressure from my exam earlier. If 2+2 was a question in my exam I'd probably be doubting myself that 4 is the answer. :lol:

Alright. But just "alright". I needed 81% in that exam to get an A overall at A Level but I don't know if I did it. I think my mark will be about 75-80, which would be a very strong B, but I'd rather have a weak A. :(

Gabriella Pulls Out

 

Gabriella Cilmi has pulled out for this months Buzzjack Song Contest after contracting tuberculosis whilst holidaying in Dr Bombays Tigerland.

 

Her manager confirmed to the assembled press of Quilvoria that she would not be competing.
