I wouldn't bother assigning countries to semi-finals yet because I have my last exam tomorrow (which I should be studying for now, but I think I'll do badly whether or not I try to take it in) and I don't plan on starting the recap until it's all over at least. I said I'll have the recap done a day after the semi-finals begin, the 15th, anyway so I'll have enough time to make them, whether or not they'll be ready by 11:59pm on the 15th isn't stated, but it should be earlier. :P

 

I don't think I stated an exact time that the confirmation thread will close. I'm not sure when will be best, morning, afternoon or evening?

Triodopolis' new beach arena will soon open, ready for acts from the world of BuzzJack to descend on, as part of their promotional tours. A spokesman said: "It is important for Triodopolis to open it's doors to other countries acts, as it will lead to the doors opening for us to visit the other continents of BuzzJack also."

 

It is expected after Wembley like delays the arena will be open just after the BJSC7 final, and will accept bookings from BJSC8 participants. Actually, thinking about it now, I think it'd be fairer if just the semi-finalists voted in their semis, because each one could have different amount of voters and people are only likely to vote if there's a song they really like in the other one.

Yes I agree, it is definitely fairer to have the semi-finalists vote only in their own semi-final, for the reasons you just mentioned.

 

Also, it is easier to compare the scores at a later date when it comes to statistics and the like.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards letting only the participants in each semi vote. Except I can vote in both, unless Ashton qualify then I'll vote in one, Ashton in the other.

In an exclusive interview with Rachel Stevens, Kopecek representative in the upcoming BJSC, Rachel confessed that she "[isn't]...worried that [she] might not qualify" under the new qualification system, claiming that "Estelle is a horrid b!tch" before going on to say that "all of the other songs are awful" and that "only I deserve to win". This sensational interview comes after days of speculation regarding the new qualification system, and Rachel's brash statements can only harm her chances. Vanja Helensson: Good afternoon Rachel, how are you?

Rachel Stevens: Oh, I'm fine! I just got back from Torchwood earlier, cos I stopped off there on my promo tour.

Vanja: How did that work out then?

Rachel: Really well. I'm feeling optimistic about my chances after last night; I've been taking choreography tips from Ani Lorak, who's a personal idol of mine.

Vanja: Are you worried about your chances of qualification?

Rachel: Am I worried? Hmmmm...well I haven't really thought about it to be honest. I'm just concentrating on giving the biggest show of my life in Siobah; but I'm not much of an expert on chances and all that. There are loads of fantastic songs this year, I can't get enough of Keri Hilson (regardless of what she has to say about me) and Katy Perry. I haven't heard the Freemasons remix of The One yet, but I'm a big fan of the Freemasons and Kylie so I have no doubt it'll be fantastic. If anything I'm one of the last people who deserves to win - it's a pretty obvious song to win with don't you think? I'd love to see someone like Imogen Heap or Beth Rowley win, and quite frankly I don't think that anybody could say that all of the other songs are awful - there's a lot of quality this month.

Vanja: What about your rivalries with the other artists?

Rachel: What rivalries? You mean the ones that the tabloids created for us? That was ridiculous, you had all sorts of stuff taken completely out of context and just twisted to make us all look like complete hags - I mean, you had that bloody 'rivalry' with Estelle, where I would give a non-committal interview, then I'd wake up in the morning, look at the papers, and apparently I'd said the day before that Estelle is a horrid b!tch or something...it's ridiculous, I would never stoop so low as to publicly slag off my fellow artists, especially when I respect their work; and I'm sure it's the same for them - it's all just tabloids twisting our words. Well, maybe apart from Keri Hilson, but she's always had a bit of a reputation as a diva - I don't particularly care what she has to say, I'll judge her on her music.

Vanja: What about your relationship with Dima Bilan?

Rachel: No comment. Well, OK, all I have to say on the matter is that Dima and I are still very close, but that we're both very busy with the contest at the moment. It never was, and never will be, a publicity stunt, and you can print that on the front page of...what magazine are you from again?

I mean like when the confirmation is closed and we have all our entrants, maybe having a thread for the "live draw" similar to the draw they have in March for Eurovision, so we can see what semi-final the countries get drawn into, and the performance order "as it happens" so to speak.
