May 11, 200818 yr YAY SCOOTER ARE BAAAAAACK!!! :yahoo: They last hit the UK singles charts back in 2004. The last UK hit album was Stadium Techno Experience in 2003. Here's their discography so far - (Year followed by Title followed by German Chart position followed by UK chart position) Those in bold - no UK release Singles: 1996 - Break It Up - 15 - 92 1997 - The Age Of Love - 14 - 76 2007 - The Question Is What Is The Question? - 5 - 49? 2008 - I'm Lonely - 9? - TBC Albums: 1995 - ...And the Beat Goes On! - 25 - 130 1996 - Our Happy Hardcore - 17 - 24 1996 - Wicked! - 22 - 76 1997 - Age of Love - 19 - 0 1998 - No Time to Chill - 4 - 0 1999 - Back to the Heavyweight Jam - 7 - 0 2000 - Sheffield - 15 - 0 2001 - We Bring the Noise! - 11 - 0 2003 - The Stadium Techno Experience - 7 - 20 2004 - Mind the Gap - 16 - 0 2005 - Who's Got the Last Laugh Now? - 14 - 0 2007 - The Ultimate Aural Orgasm - 6 - 0 2007 - Jumping All Over the World - 14 - 1 Thanks Euro Music. I didn't know they had some singles that haven't reached the top 75. The Question is... peak in the UK was 49 and I'm Lonely's peak in Germany is in fact number 9, so your positions are OK (if that's why were the ? marks there) It's funny that they hadn't had a German number 1 album but they have now in the UK  I didn't know they are that big in the UK :o
May 11, 200818 yr Scooter seem to be the ONLY German Group to ever Top the UK Album Chart. I cannot think of any others. However, they are hardly original. 'The Question Is What Is The Question?' is heavily based around Dutch Duo's Mouth & McNeal's 'How Do You Do?' - a Global Hit in 1972. (The 1972 Hit flopped in the UK, but it even reached No.8 in the USA). 'Jumping All Over The World' samples 'A Glass Of Champagne' - Sailor's big European Hit from early 1976 - No.2 in the UK. How much 100% brand new Music do they actually come up with? Edited May 11, 200818 yr by zeus555
May 12, 200818 yr scooter really have done alot of music, there back in the uk singles was released in ireland but they callee it back in ireland which was a hit here also

Same with I'm Lonely in Germany. Edited May 14, 200818 yr by Euro Music
May 14, 200818 yr Scooter seem to be the ONLY German Group to ever Top the UK Album Chart. I cannot think of any others. I think you're quite right there. As far as I can make out the next nearest was Autobahn by Kraftwerk #4 in 1975. Side one of the album had only one track, it was the full 22 minute 45 second version of Autobahn.

May 14, 200818 yr plus - it's no surprise Kylie's sales are improving... most shops are selling 'X' for a fiver
May 14, 200818 yr X is £6 in HMV, £6 in Zavvi, £9 on Play.com. Only one store has it for £5 or less and that is Tesco.

May 14, 200818 yr Well i'm glad after all Madonna even got to #1 and the fact that she did the incredible double for the fourth time in her career. Out of all the big international girls, Britney, Kylie, Janet and Mariah, its Madonna who came back with a massive #1 hit single and a #1 album! That's all that makes me happy and as for Scooter, i wish them a disasterous and troublesome career!
May 14, 200818 yr plus - it's no surprise Kylie's sales are improving... most shops are selling 'X' for a fiver  It's undoubtedly the single going top 10 this week that's helped it, regardless of how it's priced in some stores. There's no other incentive for that many people to buy it in a week than a new single doing well.

There's no other incentive for that many people to buy it in a week than a new single doing well. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, people might have thought "Why am I buying the single when I can get the album for £2-4 more?"
May 15, 200818 yr I think they're doing sales for Kylie to keep it in the charts. If they done a sale for the original and special of 'Hard Candy', it would probably make #3 or #4 on Sunday.
May 16, 200818 yr Boney M had UK No.1 Albums in 1978, 1979, & 1980. They had a German Producer - Frank Farian, & they Recorded in Germany. However, not one member of Boney M was German. So, they were not a 'German Act' who had a UK No.1 Album. 'Music Week', (W/E 17th May Issue), is saying that Enigma were the first German Act to have a UK No.1 Album - 'The Cross Of Changes' in 1994. However, only 2 of Enigma were German - 1 was a Romanian, & 1 was an Austrian. Scooter are the first 100% German Act to have a No.1 Album in the UK. Oddly, the same Album only got to No.14 in Germany!
