May 14, 200817 yr What a brilliant top 2 in the singles chart this week. Infact, the singles chart has been fairly decent this year.
May 14, 200817 yr :cheer: for Royworld! for Pendulum and Santogold in the albums though! Especially Pendulum being overtaken by someone only my dad would know :( Shame on the British public for buying all the music from the oldies! Pleased DCFC still top 10 though :w00t:
May 14, 200817 yr Great that the Ting Tings are still number 1 Can't believe that Rihanna dross is number 2 I second that
May 14, 200817 yr anyone know the last chart where the top 2 were both new entries to the top 75? I know Leona and Take That had a top 2 of new entries in November, but Take That had climbed from just outside the top 40...
May 14, 200817 yr 1 Madonna - Sorry 2 Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On ...springs to mind, but I'm probably wrong. That was just over 2 years ago now, wasn't it?
May 14, 200817 yr Sales info posted on Haven - no source quoted though: 1. Ting Tings 14.6k 2. Rihanna 13.4k 3. Madonna 11.5k 4. Will I Am 9.8k 5. Wiley 9.5k Albums 1. Neil Diamond 16.8k 2. Pendulum 15k 3. Scooter 12k 4. Madonna 10.2k 5. Duffy 10.1k (only 23 copies behind Madonna)
May 14, 200817 yr I think Rihanna has a good sporting chance of catching that No1 spot. Shes only about a thousand copies behind. By the way...any sign of Chanelle Hayes in Top 100 yet? Edited May 14, 200817 yr by Scoobyh1

Only a Top 40 update so far... It looks like there were sales missing yesterday, either that or her physical was late into the shops. I've a feeling she will go Top 100, maybe Top 75 as the week goes on. Either way, the knives are out for her in the media.
May 14, 200817 yr I don't know why anyone's surprised that Chanelle's flopping the song and video, the whole image infact screams cheap, bargain bin, the sort of thing that would have missed the top 40 in 2002, so its certainly not going to do anything in 2008!
May 14, 200817 yr Scooter have been around for 15 years, have had a number of hits in the UK, and one of the discs on their album was a Greatest Hits disc Chanelle was awful in Big Brother, is a Posh Spice wannabe and can't sing...the chavs can see right through her act I think any self respecting chav blasting out Chanelle at the back of the bus would be laughed at by all of the other passengers...at least Scooter have a bit of street cred in those circles
May 14, 200817 yr Cant believe Rhianna is doing so well, and looks like she will be number one by the end of the week! :puke2:

Was just playing devil's advocate anyway. My point really was that it's difficult to predict what does and doesn't connect with the public sometimes. The whole Chanelle affair just screams disaster to me - I just don't think that #157 is the end of the story. She will go a fair bit higher than that. For the record, I think that "Jumping All Over The World" (the single) is delightful!
May 14, 200817 yr Agree with 80's pop kid re Madonna and Corinne Baily Rae being the last time 2 new entries were at number 1 & 2. This occured on Feb 26th 2006. Have now heard the Ting Tings and its not as bad as I had feared. Rihanna should be number 1 though.
May 14, 200817 yr Author I should imagine Girls Aloud are #40 in the singles, as they were behind Black Kids yesterday
May 14, 200817 yr Author Kelly Rowland's album and single position please??? Thanks. Single 11+6=??? Album 20+2+3+4=??? :P
