A distinctive singer/songwriter who had lots of top 10 hits in both the UK and USA in the 70's.

His hits included -- The show must go on, One man band, Long tall glasses, Moonlighting and When I need you (a number 1 in UK & US).

His manager was Adam Faith.

Did anyone ever like him?

I always found his voice a bit insipid and his music dreary. I thought One Man Band was OK when it was out and one of my earliest memories of TOTP is him dressing up as a clown singing The Show Must Go On.

Between David Soul and Leo Sayer they combined to restrict one of my favourite songs of all time, Don't Cry For Me Argentina by Julie Covington to a solitary week at number one with another 5 weeks at number two behind the gruesome twosome (3 behind DS and 2 behind LS).

You Make Me Feel Like Dancing was also a US number one, along with When I Need You. Those two, along with More Than I Can Say also sold a million copies in the US.

Come on he wasn't too bad. When I Need You a bit syrupy though. The long album version of You Make Me Feel Like Dancing is good.

I quite liked Leo Sayer, he wasn't all that bad.

I liked, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and "When I Need You", which was my fave of his :cheer:

I loved The Show Must Go On - when that came out I thought - great - something a bit different. I liked Long Tall Glasses too ... but the rest of his stuff (particularly Moonlighting and When I Need You - yeukkkkkkk!)

All his songs were hideous, especially One Man Band and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing made me feel like throwing up.

couldnt abide the little tw@t... he just needed a good thump.

however...

'the show must go on' was the exception.. it was imho a classic.

For 1970s British artists with Kevin Keegan style hairdos I always preferred Gilbert O'Sullivan.

Leo's best song was his debut The Show Must Go On.

He wrote Giving it all away which was a hit in 1973 for Roger Daltrey before The Show Must go on was released.

I liked One Man Band,Long Tall Glasses & How Much Love.I cant stop loving you ,Raining in my heart & When I need you were good ballads.

true..... but personally i dont like ballads! ill give credit where its due though, his ballads were different to eachother and he could perform them live by himself..... unlike westlife! a bit of perspective there :)

My younger sister laughs a lot when she listens you make me feel like dancing...When I Need you is beautiful, but I think I like more, More than I can Say

I have heard a few songs and I like them ;)

 I love When i need you, You make me feel like dancing and another that i can't remember the title of :)
