Someone told me that Gold status and Silver status had both been upped to that. :o

The amount of sales you need to achieve Silver status is kind of a joke imo. I don't even see why they NEED a Silver certification. The amount of sales an artist needs to have a Gold album could probably be upped too. And while they're at it, might as well up the Platinum certification.

I think it would make more sense to be

100k - silver

250k - gold

500k - platinum

Agreed! But the UK sales are just TOO Shammy for them to be upped to that at the moment! :(

I would prefer more in this way

100k-Silver

200k-Gold

400k-Platinum

60k for an award...everyone can get that award...even Anastacia with her last album.

Awesome! :D

The global sales numbers right now are laughable for albums! 106,000 for a #1 album is pretty dismal for just the US!

i thought it was something like this

60k for silver

100k for gold

300k platinum

correct :)

i think 100, 200, and 300k would make sense. Better spacing and make silver and gold more of an achievement. I think Platinum is ok in relation to the size of our music market versus the units needed to achieve it in other countries

Oh, and by the by, since you all seem very excited about it i'm glad to tell you *drumroll*

CIRCUS WAS CERTIFIED PLATINUM IN THE UK THIS WEEK! (Source Chartsplus/BPI Awards)

Amazing, she has really shown what comeback is :) Still hope Blackout scrapes over that line one day, i wish they were selling it cheap off the back of Circus more but they seem to just want to distance her from it (all that negative PR crap)

WOW! I knew it was close, but didn't realise it did it so soon :o

It "goes without saying" Britney fans are renown for not giving a toss about credibility but for any NON Britney loons (new to chart knowledge) reading; CERTIFICATION/SHIPPED(to shops) sales and RETAIL sales (to public)ARE NOT the same thing eg Madges "Hard Candy" album (in UK) SHIPPED Platinum on RELEASE despite its flop opening week of LESS than 100k and catastrophic sales crash to a couple of 10Ks the following week.

In summary given its current limp chart run. Circus is highly unlikely to sell much more than Blackout.....-SOME COMEBACK Brit's PUPPET STRING PULLERS! ;)

Could you exactly point out who exactly said "Certified Platinum in Sales"?? No? Didn't think so -_-

So I really do not know what you are getting at TBPHWY, or is this just your dig, to try and put Britney and a few of her fans down?

We know it wouldn't have done Platinum in sales because it's not long Achieved 250,000 in sales. Which is what 'Blackout' has achieved in it's run. So yes, with another single or two to come off the album, plus a World Tour, along the way, I am pretty sure this album will sell around 400-500k in total.

Ima please just go its like no one really gives a f*** about the pure $h!t that comes out your mouth, either way sales cant be too great this week if #14 only sold around 10,000.
