LOL I'd rather watch this than Big Brother.
OMG I loved Kathreya! Her personality is amazing, she so deserves to win  Either her or the fantastic Sylvia :heehee: It's a shame that Mikey will probably win just on the basis of blindness though...-_-

On first impressions my favourites are Rebecca and Kathreya. :D

I will never ever ever watch big brother again if Mikey wins, It will just solidate the fact that you have to have a special feature or disability to do well. -_-

An audience of 5.4m tuned in to see a new batch of contestants enter the Big Brother house last night.

The figure, which includes viewing on C4+1, accounted for 25% of the total viewing audience. It is a fall of 800,000 from 2007, when 6.2m (26%) watched the start of Big Brother 8.

The first episode of the seventh series attracted 6.9m (30.6%).

Channel 4 said last night's show attracted a strong 41% share of viewing among 16- 34-year-olds.

Later on, 2.1m (16.5%) watched The Big Brother Launch Night Project at 10.40pm, 382,100 (2.9%) watched E4's live stream from 10.30pm to 11.40pm, and 314,000 (4.9%) saw this year's first Big Brother's Big Mouth at 11.40pm.

Angela Jain, commissioning editor for Big Brother and Head of E4, said: "This is a strong start for Big Brother 9 and it's fantastic that over a quarter of everyone watching TV last night tuned in to see the launch.

"We remain as committed as ever to making this year's series the most entertaining yet."

c**p start

I read the live feed on MSN. A girl with fake t*ts, lots of fame hungry young girls, gays hugely misrepresnted, lots of omg's squealing and an 'it' girl.

 Same old, same old. No wonder the ratings are down, the show is a load of utter $h!te now, totally devoid of anything original or exciting. With any luck it'll flop completely and then get the axe which is well overdue!

I'd disagree - I think this years bunch are a better selection than the last couple of years, especially last years wannabees.

On face value, as you posted, they sound c**p - but if you think of it as politics student, accounts executive and 2 trainee teachers, I think they've got some worthwhile people to balance the airheads out aswell. Sure, Jennifer is a model, but she also seems to have quite a lot going on in her head. Dale and Stephanie seem into themselves, but I expect it's all talk and not much action.

The only one I really dislike is Dennis - such a hideous fake cross between Perez Hilton and every gay Big Brother contestant ever. He won't last, because he's so fake.

I quite like Rachel, Rex, Jennifer & Cookie Monster.

I would disagree, I think that original and bubbly characters such as Kathreya and Sylvia (after all, when else have we had somebody who mixed style and religion so effortlessly before?) do prove that Big Brother still has a spark left in it ^_^ However, if Mikey wins then that's pretty much it for BB, even though it's contracted through to 2010 I can't see many people watching if it's perceived that disability can just win it from the outset. And Dennis is vile too :manson: Have they ever thought of getting any normal homosexuals in anytime?
This will probably sound harsh but I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the housemates experience of being in the house will be "ruined" somewhat because they'll feel the need to help Mikey round 24/7

They possibly will - did anyone notice Rachel leading him to meet housemates, then Dennis did later in the launch?? They're obviously going to feel a little like they have to help, but if he's been blind since he was 23 I imagine he can cope pretty well on his own.

Also - watch this vid from about 1 min in - remind anyone of Dennis?

I missed it last night, and my sister has deleted it from sky+ because she thought I'd seen it

So can someone tell me whats happened/what the housemates are like etc? :D

LOL @ people being negative about it already. How predictable.

I think it's been quite good this year, far better mix of people than there was last year. Although having a blind person in it is ridiculous in my opinion but oh well.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Dale - FAB mate of a mate too so he's my fav woo rofl lmao haha. Although I get the feeling he'll do a Mikey-From-BB6 in that his audition was showing how controversial he is, yet he gets in the house and is completely dreary with no opinions on anything whatsoever.

Luke - Lives down mine AND NORMA'S enz but my God he's an annoying little prick.

Michael - He's won it already. Why stick a disabled person in there? The public are hardly gonna VOTE OUT A BLIND MAN, are they? :manson:

Rachel - AMAZING. She's so ridiculously happy and upbeat and is gonna annoy the living daylights out of everyone woo haha.

Rebecca - Out. Now. Please. Horrible.

Rex - Rubbishy, gayer version of Gordon Ramsay? No thanks.

Stephanie - Fit. But vapid.

All the rest I have yet to form an opinion on. And can I just say it was a rather good opening night. Better than to be expected anyway. I didn't exactly have HIGH HOPES when I noticed they were springing a couple/double-act in there again but it rescued itself VERY WELL.
