After Duffy's 15th place (just 6 points off the Top 10), Nonsuch are proud to announce that they have gone for an unknown act (from a UK & USA perspective).

They will be represented by a Canadian female pop/rocker Suzie McNeil with her 2008 Canadian Top 5 smash hit Lonely (Are You Coming Home?).

Enjoy!

As Suzie (who initially became famous for being the leading female finishing 4th in Rockstar:INXS to find a replacement for the late Michael Hutchence) is an unknown act outside of her native Canada where this single became the biggest hit of her six singles to date, she will become the first act to represent Nonsuch to do a tour of competing countries, where she will perform to promote this wonderful track penned by Kara Dioguardi (the top American songwriter (for Celine Dion, David Archuleta, Delta Goodrem, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Faith Hill, Santana, Ashlee Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Kylie Minogue & others), record producer who will be the 4th judge on the eighth season of American Idol).

So the planned tour itinery is for:

Oct 1st : Kopecka

Oct 2nd : Lorikeet

Oct 3rd : Kylienips

Oct 4th : Ashton

Oct 5th : Ojnoj

Oct 6th : Kathaldazia

Oct 7th : Torchwood

Oct 8th : Quotosibb

Oct 9th : FNTNickdonia

Oct 10th : Herzebania

Oct 11th : FSR Rontvia

Oct 12th : Angelic Land

Oct 13th : Utopia

Oct 14th : Deandria

Oct 15th : Simondly

Oct 16th : Tinnmark

Oct 17th : Jester's Kingdom

Oct 18th : Rest Day

Oct 19th : Kellyana

Oct 20th : Vulcania

Oct 21st : Juranabaijan

Oct 22nd : MKL

Oct 23rd : Tapatilandia

Oct 24th : Rest Day

Oct 25th: The Final in Mdice

So please either post in this thread or PM me if you would like Suzi to come and visit your country and I will fill these dates up.

Taftville welcomed the love Suzie McNeil to Ojnoj earlier tonight, after stunning performances of 'Hung Up' and Nonsuch's BJSC XI entry 'Lonely'. She recieved a very warm reception and went down a storm with the Ojnojian public. Ojnoj feel she will definately be one of the ones to watch in the BJSC. We are more than happy to have Suzie McNeil visit Ojnoj any other time.

Isabel Guzman arrives in Nonsuch

Isabel Guzman, representing Mdice in BJSCXI, arrived in Nonsuch October 8th to give her debut performance in the country. "It was exciting!" Isabel said. "Mdice has never had a tour for their BJSC entries, so I'm glad to be a first. I've loved previous Nonsuch entries as well, Cyndi and Kylie being favorites of mine." Isabel's electropop has often been compared to Kylie Minogue and other acts in the same vein. "It went really well I think," Isabel stated. "I'd also love to heir Suzie McNeil perform if she ever comes to Mdice."

Pixie arrives in Nonsuch for another tour date

FSR Rontvia's BJSCXI entrant Pixie has put on another great concert in Nonsuch today to continue her extensive promotional tour to support her song Boys And Girls. She arrived in Nonsuch's main concert venue to a rapturous reception. One onlooker said 'we have a keen eye for emerging talent in Nonsuch so we were eager to come down and see if Pixie was any good'. The 17 year old Brit was pleased that she had the backing of the Nonsuch public saying 'I really admire Nonsuch, they entered the BJSC only recently, yet have always sent brilliant entries already making them one of the biggest forces in the contest. The country is beautiful and the people here are incredibly friendly, I've had a great time!' Pixie performed current single and BJSCXI entry Boys And Girls as well as her own take on the Cyndi Lauper's 'should have been huge' Into The Nightlife as part of her 'covers a past BJSC entry' series. Here is her promotional video for Boys And Girls.

Does it sample a big hit or something? I can't quite place my finger on a song but it really reminds me of something else.

No. Let's just say that Suzie McNeil was not the first artist who had the opportunity of recording this song. :o

Oh. I think it's that the intro reminds Keane's "Everybody's Changing" but on guitar. I don't know if that's the song I was thinking of though.

I think Rich could be on the right lines, it sounds very Anastacia or maybe P!nk/Kelly Clarkson. :o

Hello it's Steven The Stingray here again.

After Suzie McNeil's brilliant second plavce finish in the 11th BJSC, we are going back to the selection process of choosing between songs, as their are a lot of good new songs by relatively unknown artists out there, and I'm not talking Britney, Rihanna or Girls Aloud.

Anyway, the jury of Nonsuch would value your opinions on which of these songs would make a great entry, as personally I think they are all bloody great!

Bishi - Never Seen Your Face 2009 (Adamski Remix)

Emmy The Great - Seattle (BPA (aka Norman Cook) Remix)

Ladyhawke - My Delirium

So please provide your feedback in this thread.

Not too keen on the unknown entries :( Ladyhawke I absoloutely LOVE though! But if you were going to go with an unknown song I prefer Emmy the Great but only just. Bishi could do very well in the competition though. I can imagine both ETG and Bishi could do very well with the "indie/alternative" people! whereas Ladyhawke would appeal to fans of Ladyhawke only probably and in the contest I think there's quite a few. [/rambling]
