July 24, 200816 yr Stunning, amazing film... will break records too, and win Oscars, no doubt. Ledger will be nominated, it goes without saying. Agreed that he should have won for Brokeback, it was an incredible, life-changing performance - they gave it to Philip Seymour Hoffman because Hollywood likes to reward their own. Same reason they gave Best Picture to the awful, hometown favorite "Crash" that year (based in Los Angeles).
July 24, 200816 yr Same reason they gave Best Picture to the awful, hometown favorite "Crash" that year (based in Los Angeles). I've been a defender of "Crash" in the past.. But I watched it recently, and BOY does it not stand up to repeated viewings...... It really is a pretty fatally flawed film.... Compared to a film like "Babel" which does the same sort of 'different, but interconnected narratives' idea, "Crash" just does not compare, and is clumsy, unsubtle and ill-thought out....
July 24, 200816 yr Author OMG :o I was blown over, best Batman movie ever, beats Batman Begins hands down To be honest Heath Ledger made that film he was flawless, it was his best acting performance, and shall be remembered for that role as the Joker, without him the film might have bombed, I just hope in later films they won't bring the Joker back as they will have to re cast the role completely. For me Two Face was a bit of a let down, without giving too much away, I didn't think the villain side of him had that much air time. I know where the story is going for the next movie, if anyone reads the comics. I can see where the Nolan Bros are going with the third movie. Overall score 12/10 P.S. You MUST see this movie, I was literally blown over ten fold.
July 24, 200816 yr :o Getting good reviews on here, watching it in a few hours :D I don't even recall watching a Batman film, I may have seen some of the sequels, but i'm very excited for this :w00t:
July 25, 200816 yr :o I think possibly my favourite film of all time! It was just mind-blowing and Heath Ledger's performance was as Martin said, flawless. His character was so creepy/ freaky and he played it so well - I now understand what all the fuss is about! Seriously, EVERYONE must watch this film. I'm sure it will be a classic in years to come
July 25, 200816 yr I loved it, much better than I expected, although I found the Joker funny, the part when he is walking out of the hospital is just priceless  Two Face was wasted really, they could have like saved him for the next film or something Some suprises too :o Very good film, 9/10

Every Joker adaption i cant seem to take serious, but Heath's i thought it was the definate Joker, that was atchully... scary. Shame about Two Face it seems everyone agrees on this 'wasted' opinon.
July 25, 200816 yr I agree. I found the Joker genuinely scary because it's such a twisted character and I think that Heath's tragic death just adds to the character even more, if you know what I mean.

Then again, I don't find much scary though
July 25, 200816 yr How is Sarah Jayne Dunn on it? I know she has a small part, but how many scenes/lines does she get in the final edit?
July 25, 200816 yr Just got back from watching it, it was amazing. :o Heath Ledger STOLE the film. I found it hard to follow (really hard to follow at some points actually), yet his performance deserves an Oscar/Academy award. When he came on screen you could just tell that everyone in the cinema was paying him their utmost attention. He played the Joker so well.
July 25, 200816 yr I thought it was.... alright. I liked it, but three hours was a little too much for me. One child (Age Seven?) had to leave because he was crying his poor little eyes out. I just hate all the "lessons" we are supposed to learn though. They seemed so blunt "This is the moral of the movie!" scenes. Seemed destined to be on some students homework assignment, "How are the Joker's morals and Batman's morals different - please explain using examples from the film."
July 25, 200816 yr IMDB says she was "Maroni's Misstress" From what I remember she had one line and was never seen again :heehee:

I didn't understand any of that really. Tbh, I didn't understand alot of it. Like when we was walking out of the Cinema I asked everyone, "So who's this Gotham guy then? I never saw him in the movie." I felt like such an idiot. But that aside, the ending didn't make much sense either? Was the Batman good or bad? Did the Joker die? (Probably not). It's so much that could lead onto the next movie.
