Well I set a deadline and sent reminder PMs to everyone who hadn't voted. I think it's only fair that I stick to the deadline. I'm sorry to any countries that would have benefited from these late votes but I don't think I should accept them.

I don't think you should reveal these votes, as it could upset some people. Just pretend they never happened :P

Hmm... I would've accepted them tbh Adi, but it is your decision. I mean... have these people even been online much in the last few days? :unsure: If they have, then fair enough not to count them, but I've not seen either about and well... real life events comes before the internet. :lol:

annoyed that If This Is Love by The Saturdays didn't make the final...it's a real grower and I would have given it one of my top points in the final, even though I didn't give it much in the semi :o

I think that the votes should've been included...why exactly was the deadline 4? If the results had to be done graphically, fair point, but given that the results are just text they can just be put in - all votes should be included IMO unless it's really far too late to accept them, i.e. during voting - there's no real purpose in not accepting them, as a. people won't learn their lesson (there will always be late votes), and b. results would likely have been changed - if the only reason someone didn't do as well as they deserved was because of the time their votes were sent, then there's a degree of injustice there, even if they were told the deadline - fair do's if they send it in, say, a day late, but people rarely remember the hour stated, and as has been said, real life usually ends up getting in the way for those who haven't been on much recently!

As much as I'm pleased Aaron is sticking to his guns, and would be inclined to be strict myself, I can't help but see alot of sense in what you're saying.

at the end of the day a deadline is a deadline.

 

When you hand in assignments, they don't get marked the second the deadline passes, they get marked in due course. If an individual extension was requested before the time passed then maybe just maybe they could have been added.

Actually. I changed my mind over dinner. A deadline is a deadline. Anyone who sent their votes in late will not have their votes counted. I extended the deadline for about 10 minutes after the official deadline already. Sorry if you got your votes in late.

And I do have to say I agree 100% with the Trashalexis post above but it really doesn't matter if you don't count my votes. I was 11 minutes late, period. I totally agree :kink:, especially as early indications are showing Nonsuch is going to do worse than even I thought I would do, when many countries predicted Kylie would grab a Top 3 debut finish for Nonsuch. :cry:

 

All joking aside, having run numerous games like this I can see both sides of the argument. Personally, if it had not affected my preparation then I would have accepted the late results if they had came in before 7 PM.

 

But Adi did set a deadline, which for whatever reason was not met, so I support his decision.
