Posted June 26, 200817 yr the return of one of the biggest bands of the 90's: the verve! urban hymns is one of the biggest selling albums of all time spending 12wks at No1 and gave them a no1 single to boot. they imploded shortly after this success, but reformed last year and are back with their first single 'Love Is Noise' out digitally and physically on 3rd August and an album 'Forth' out on 18th August. how will they do? will these be massive? or have they left it far too late after 11 years? June 26, 200817 yr I love their music, Bitter Sweet Symphony and The Drugs Don't Work are my fave hits This track really sounds different, it will take a bit of getting use to, the background beats is a bit annoying
June 26, 200817 yr Author both are classics! i think love is noise will go straight in at no1 with sales over 100k it’s a great comeback.
June 26, 200817 yr Actually I just googled for their album and its called 'Forth' not 'Four' released 18 August, check the indie forum for tracklisting, just posted a brand new thread
June 26, 200817 yr The song is awful, total rubbish. Why does it have a dog barking in the background?
June 26, 200817 yr Genius single by possibly the best band Britain has seen in the past 15 years. Number one.
June 27, 200817 yr I'm a HUGE fan of their old stuff but this just isn't as good as much as I quite like it.. But still it's a million times better than most of Richard Ashcroft's solo stuff  Top 10
June 27, 200817 yr It's the usual problem with predictions - balancing where you think it deserves, with where you think it will *actually* chart. In this case, I don't think the song is that great, but they have a significant fanbase, so I'll reluctantly say T10,. They'll probably be reliant on physical sales to take it that high though, as is almost invariably the case with veteran acts. Edited June 27, 200817 yr by vidcapper
June 27, 200817 yr both are classics! i think love is noise will go straight in at no1 with sales over 100k it’s a great comeback. I think you are slightly over-optimistic here! :) Only X-F & charity singles sell at those levels nowadays.
June 27, 200817 yr I'm always perplexed by the popularity of this band - they set indie music back years with their boring, generic sound. Top 15 for the single...and 95% of those buying it won't listen to it more than 3 times.
June 27, 200817 yr Who said Top 75?? The single will definately be Top 5, they are releasing download and physical on same day - could be a number 1.
June 27, 200817 yr This will defintely be #1, I've grown to like it a lot now. One for my personal chart next week. Whoever said top 75 need their ears tested
June 27, 200817 yr The song is awful, total rubbish. Why does it have a dog barking in the background? so true  it's no Bitter Sweet Symphony/Drugs Don't Work is it! probably low top ten, with a sort of Last Shadow Puppets chart run
June 27, 200817 yr so true  it's no Bitter Sweet Symphony/Drugs Don't Work is it! probably low top ten, with a sort of Last Shadow Puppets chart run Oh well... there goes my idea out of the window and request a optional forum for them
June 27, 200817 yr #3 I also predict that Primal Scream's fantastic new single will reach #9 as well. Don't forget them too. ;)
