TRUTH. Lady to Ladette is FANTASTIC. It proves she CAN do funny. I quite like her interaction with the guests aswell, although she is obviously more comfortable with some (Johnathan Ross) than others. But the singing....the "What's in the Papers?" has the potential to be fantastic, but it doesn't sound like any effort goes into the lyrics at all, the punchlines are too lightweight. And with regards to her voice...the show completely demonstrates why her choice to move from a classical to a pop style was a DREADFUL one; almost career suicide. As a classical singer, she was fantastic. As a pop singer, she has a very bland indistinctive voice, which could easily be mistaken for any other princess. She is frequently outperformed by her collaborators; Beverley Knight and Sharleen Spiteri obviously so recently.
August 14, 200816 yr WHY does Charlotte insist on singing still? She's an opera singer (and a mighty good one back in her day), but now she sings with this fake annoying, 'black-soul singing' voice, and its always a turn off to a very average show.
