To suggest Katy Perry is homophobic is ridiculous. I mean, she's singing about kissing a member of the same sex.

 

Yes, for some inexplicable reason lesbianism is seen as more acceptable in society than male homosexuality, but does that give her any less of a right to sing about kissing a girl? If gay men (in particular gay male artists) object to the content so much... maybe they should try pushing the boundaries too?

 

The track itself has such broad appeal. I mean, the lesbians will love it, the straight girls who've been in that situation will also, it's quite a gay anthem and of course it will appeal to everyone else for the catchy and maybe novelty value. I don't know how someone didn't come up with it before to be honest.
