Why can't they just release her?! She's not making them money anyway?!

I'm not sure on how the law is over there but I know here, she would have a strong case seeing as she hasn't released anything for ages. Although technically since they released Disaster and Sexy To Me, they're backed up for now. I know her lawyer is one of the best in the business and it should only be a matter of time before she is released. Especially now that Blackground isn't a functioning label and hasn't had a say on her career in a good while...

Anyway here's the first song from the mixtape 'We Get By':

The interludes are a bit random but as a mixtape, I quite like it and a lot more than Can't Take That Away From Me.

I really like Billions, White Girl In Paris and Can't Handle The Truth.

So, let's not expect this ever...

'What about an upcoming album? Are you working on something like that now?

I’m not officially working on a third album. I’m waiting for all the things to come together. But in the meantime, my desire is to tour my ass off and stay as busy as possible with that because I’ve never really experienced the touring scene, so I’m super excited.'

URGH.

Well Blackground own her voice for the time being so there seems to be very little point for her to be making music that she can't put out commercially. Mixtapes like Agape are nice little side projects that she's been doing with no budget so it's no loss to her.

Video for Andre:

She'll also be releasing a full version of 'Thinking Out Loud' soon

It has been reported in this article and this article that JoJo has "filed legal papers against Blackground Records and imprint Da Family Records, citing a New York State law that holds that minors can’t sign contracts lasting more than seven years. Since she signed a contract in 2004, when she was 12, her contract should have expired in March 2011, JoJo's camp claims."

Leave (Get out) has returned to the top 40 (#35) due to the 59p effect. I can't believe she hasn't released a new single in 6 years  What happened to releasing a new song when she turned 18

JOJO IS FREE <3

She's signed to Atlantic Records, and I'm definitely expecting her to be HUGE.

I don't expect she'll ever be "huge" again but I am very much happy she's got out of that contract!
It will be interesting to see what happens now and how long it'll be before an the album is finally released.
I genuinely think she'll have a fab comeback! She's got respect in the industry and Atlantic are a pretty good label!

She's just wrapping up recording her third album and will be releasing a new single in the New Year! :cheer:

I don't know if this is the first official single but this has just been put out there:

It is actually getting me almost teary, it is so stunningly beautiful. I know this is a massive statement to make so early on after 2 listens but I think this is one of the best things she has ever done. So melodic and those vocals are just breath-taking. Perfection.

'I love JoJo's new album!', said no one ever again :(
