It was a close run thing, but Herzebania has finally decided upon its 4th entry to the Buzzjack Song Contest.

 

And the winner is......

USR have decided to stick with Tarkan.

Having remained silent since her shock selection as the Kopeček representative for BJSC IX with Little Miss Obsessive, Ashlee Simpson today aired her views on her competition in the upcoming contest. "I'm really looking forward to meeting Marie Picasso - I have to say that I totally didn't expect to fall in love with Winning Streak [her entry] as it has this real 'X-Factor winner' vibe to it, but it's totally amazing. I still don't think it tops Tata Young though, but that would be almost impossible!". Ashlee went on to say that she thought that Quotosibb "really deserved to do well with Santogold - she's a wonderful artist and I respect her loads, You'll Find A Way is an absolute anthem", and that she "wasn't too keen" on Bhangrese entrant Velvet's Fix Me. In response to speculation that she might have some fierce rivals ahead of the competition, Ashlee said that she "[kept] an open mind on these things...I never take anything insulting at face value as I know what tabloids are like with these things", but went on to say that she hated Jennifer Lopez, thinks of Mariah Carey as a musical non-entity and fancied a quick bunk-up with Tarkan and Sanna Nielsen.

One slight problem I have is that for:

 

Triodopolis: Nicol - How Does It Feel Now?

 

I'm only able to locate a link for the track via her MySpace as it does not appear to have been uploaded to Youtube.

 

I don't know how much of a problem that will cause?

perhaps Matt will upload a video to youtube himself? he certainly did that for The Love Willows last time around

I had a strange dream last night, it took place on Buzzjack forums and Involved Thisispop and Peter30.

 

Thisispop said to Peter30 "The winner is someone like you"

 

and then peter posted "Eugh :wacko:" or something like that. :heehee:

 

I'd have understood if Thisispop had said Peter30 was the winner but I don't get this. :unsure:

For BJSC9:

 

There are 39 Confirmed entries

 

+ 2 Countries (FSR Farahtyn & Utopia) who have yet to confirm their song in the next 24 Hours.

 

Therefore I'm looking at a likely 41 entries.

 

So I'm proposing doing the following for Saturday morning's Semi Finals:

 

1. The Top 5 from BJSC8 (if an odd total number of entries, Top 4 if an even number of entries) get a bye through to the Final:

 

This will be Nonsuch, United States of Jack, Angelic Land & Sangria with the 5th place country being Simondly (which considering their selection for BJSC9 is as good as a bye anyway if the total entries are an even amount).

 

2. The Semi Finals will be split with an equal number in them (i.e. if as projected there are 41 entries, then 41 - 5 = 36. 36/2 = 18 in each Semi Final.

 

With the Top 10 in each Semi Final going through to the Final, as I think a Final with 25 countries should be the standard going forward, but that is Nonsuch's call for hosting this.

 

 

 

With regards the countries that will have byes to the Final, I'm wondering whether it is better to split them so that they are only able to vote in One designated Semi Final each, or whether to allow them to vote in both Semi Finals, what do you think?

may I ask why the top five not the top 3 like we did last time? I think a top five is a bit excessive as you may end up with songs getting into the final which perhaps wouldn't have made it through otherwise.

 

With regrads to the auto-qualifiers, I think you should split them between the semis (if it's an odd number then of course Nonsuch would vote in both) you could also put their songs at the start or end of the summary vids so they are not disadvantaged as much when it comes to the final.

this isnt the actual ESC, we can listen to the songs as much as we want :P

I'd like to see only the WINNER qualifying, like when I hosted it. I thought that's the way we were doing it from now on and last month was only because the host was the 3rd placed FSR Rontvia. But it's not really my call, I'd just like to see the minimum amount of countries auto-qualifying now there are so many people wanting to take part.
