Posted July 23, 200816 yr Will it be Dizzee Rascal for a 5th consecutive week or could Kid Rock overhaul him with All Summer Long? I'm predicting a very close call between these two. The Saturdays' release If This Is Love physically and digitally could it live up to the hype and marketing budget and go straight in at No1?
July 23, 200816 yr I seriously wouldn't be suprised if it was The Saturdays to be honest .... It's not just because I kinda like the song, the marketing around it seems to be huge and very in your face at the moment. The song is catchy enough for people to want to buy it too I think. But who knows. As long as it isn't Kid Rock, I'm not bothered.
July 24, 200816 yr I said Kid Rock... It could well climb next week as Dizzee is falling a little but who knows... Dizzee now has the now effect...
July 24, 200816 yr The Saturdays' release If This Is Love physically and digitally could it live up to the hype and marketing budget and go straight in at No1? I would hope Kid Rock. As for The Saturdays, until this thread I never throught they'd even threaten the T20 let alone #1 - girl groups need personality as well as looks, and I don't think these ones have much of either.
July 24, 200816 yr Dizzee again, because that is the slow nature of the UK charts...when are Noah & The Whale releasing? that could go top 5...
July 24, 200816 yr I said Kid Rock... It could well climb next week as Dizzee is falling a little but who knows... Dizzee now has the now effect... nope, Dizzee, Estelle, Jonas Brothers and Flo Rida's songs are not available to purchase individually from the digital bundle of Now 70 so these 4 artists are not benefiting from cherry picking...
July 24, 200816 yr Dizzee - I think the saturdays will do very well though and peak around #4 as the song seems to be everywhere at the moment
July 24, 200816 yr Dizzee again, because that is the slow nature of the UK charts...when are Noah & The Whale releasing? that could go top 5... 4 Aug
July 24, 200816 yr And for the thread topic itself, I say Dizzee, Kid Rock won't do it, and The Saturdays, its their debut single, you only have to look at the sales for Dizzee, for a debut girl group they will have to sell over 25k plus to do it, which is a hard feat these days
July 24, 200816 yr Dizzee Rascal for one more week, but then Katy Perry will knock him off the week after on downloads and stay there for 5-6 weeks
July 24, 200816 yr its absurd that Katy isn't doing anything yet despite having been available on 7Digital for ages...iTunes really does completely dominate the chart now
July 24, 200816 yr The Saturdays would be lucky to make the top 20, never mind No 1. No matter how much money you throw at a group, if the public don't take to them they're not going to be successful. I hardly hear the song on the radio, plus they are handicapped by having such a stupid name. I'm thinking: two singles, then album cancelled, finally they're dropped like a hot potato. We'll see..
July 24, 200816 yr Dizzee Rascal for one more week, but then Katy Perry will knock him off the week after on downloads and stay there for 5-6 weeks The Verve might sneak a week before Katy
July 24, 200816 yr The Verve might sneak a week before Katy no way, Katy is way too hyped not to go straight in at No.1...The Verve will have to settle for No.2 or lower
July 24, 200816 yr I hope Dizzee Rascal gets knocked down. It's the worst #1 this year my miles. :puke2:
July 24, 200816 yr I can only see The Saturdays managing a Top 10 hit at most, but that would be with a lot of luck. I think the safest bet for them will be Top 20.
