June 3, 200619 yr Reminds me of Argentina vs Bulgeria a few world cups back. Argentina was 2nd Favourites overall.. Bulgeria a none rated team. Talk was about how many Argentina would get 3-0 or 4-0 at least it was said. What happened? Well the game started and at it was equal strength at first, it continued and no goals. Even at half time there was no goals. Surely Argentina would take them out as Bulergia become tired. Argentina had top class fit pro's that are used to a full game. In the second half Argentina pushed forwards, Bulgeria hit back and scored about 60 mintues into the game. Argentina then needed two to win....they pushed and pushed, what happened, near the 90th minute Bulgeria scored again. Bulergia 2 - Argentina 0 So much for Argentina winning 4-0
June 3, 200619 yr Missed the footie match, who won, what was the final score. England 6-0 Owen Crouch x3 Lampard And a Jamaican player scored an own goal, can't remember his name....
June 3, 200619 yr Author For me today's result and performance has made me realize that there is only one team that can beat us in the Worl Cup, and thats ourselves. Crouch played brilliant and so did the whole team. Alright we weren't playing against brilliant opposition but we basically rang rings round them. Roll on Paraguay.
June 3, 200619 yr That was a HUGE confidence boost for Crouch and England in general. Sure, Crouchy won't get the space like he did today (because Jamaica's defence were utter cráp) but he still showed that he can produce world class play and top quality finishes. This result should also give us some edge, as the rest of the world will definately be fearing us if they realise we beat a team 6-0 who was in the World Cup 8 years ago.
June 3, 200619 yr For 2 of his goals he did ^_^ :cheer: It has become legendary now. If he scores at the World Cup - he will be known worldwide for it!
June 3, 200619 yr Peter Crouch's day got even better as (according to Radio5Live) Peter Crouch had £5,000 on the 6-1 winner of the Derby!
June 3, 200619 yr Author Crouch got too much confidence IMO today, as he totally messed up the penalty he had, but if you're gonna miss them, its better to miss them in friendly matches. Crouch is a player that thrives of confidence though, as he showed by playing for Liverpool last year. If he scores a goal against Paraguay then he'll have even more confidence, but the problem then is when Rooney comes back its obvious that Crouch will be booted out of the team even if he scores goals.
June 3, 200619 yr Peter Crouch's day got even better as (according to Radio5Live) Peter Crouch had £5,000 on the 6-1 winner of the Derby! And I bet he desperately needed that 30k -_-
June 3, 200619 yr tDon't all get over confident. We'll be dumped out by either Argentina or Brazil, you wait and see.Today's result means nothing, one of the world's minnows only.

Actually though they may be minnows but so are Trinidad and Tobago who today got beaten 3-0 by Czech Republic who are ranked higher than us in the FIFA World Rankings, and if we did play Brazil or Argentina i'd be fairly confident of beating them as I think mos players that play in the starting 11 will be extremley hungary against either team.
