As I said previously, she seems to really be a live/touring artist, she really really really gets the crowd going (see them all jumping and singing along), BUT on TV it really doesn't look great to watch/listen.

People in the audience had so much fun, but people at home watching TV may find it a bit meh.

That performance is beyond horrific and it really goes to show how much of a sheer wannabe she is. She just brings NOTHING to the table :/ I mean why do people like her? She can't sing as the above video proves. She has no sort of individual style. Her songs are beyond mindless...

 

All she is in my eyes is a P!nk clone but without ANY of the talent, character, charisma or even quality songs. Why people don't just listen to P!nk instead is beyond me! Oh wait, they do. P!nk's last album sold 6 million copies and this is on a twelfth of that.

It's doing rather gooood on Itunes at the mo and climbing on airplay so I hope it's another hit for her ^_^

Her songs are catchy but she annoys me as a person. Trying to be "rock n roll" and her whole image/style is terrible IMO.

Im with Ethereal here, her songs are quite good including this one but as a person she annoys me.

 

Anyway decent enough song, on the same level as I Kissed A Girl id say.

I love this song! She should release ''Thinking Of You'' after this though I think, that would do really well for her. I think this'll go Top 10 in the UK at least.

You really are tone deaf aren't you. That sounds absolutely nothing like P!nk.

 

A great energetic performance. The song and performance reminds me very much of Pat Benatar, hence why I don't think a lot about the track, but hang on a minute look how it is racing up the charts in America. But her performance exudes her ironic camp energy which is why she has gone down so well in the gay community this year. That is certainly something you fail to grasp, seeing as you are clearly incapable of grasping her ironic nature of her frequently flippant & glib lyrics that flow through her material. I've read today that Madonna is the latest star to rave about her music & especially her refreshing attitude stirring up the music scene. (Still what does Madonna know about that?)

 

In short she is a superior version of Lily Allen, and equally as annoying.

 

As for the album sales comparing it negatively to P!nk is laughably pathetic. Especially seeing that the album was only released two & a half months ago in the USA, two weeks ago in Australia & New Zealand, and has yet to be released in any part of the UK, the rest of Europe, South East Asia, South America or in South Africa. Let's see how many units she has shifted in 12 months time before you can make a valid comparison.

Not sure about the whole "P!nk" angle, but 100% with you on the fake "lesbian" controversy angle..... I utterly DETEST artists who go out of their way to do this "oooh, look at me, aren't I soooooo shocking" thing, when in fact to say it's half-hearted and trite is a total understatement..... You want a more "4-Real" controversial artist, look no further than late-90s/early 00s Marilyn Manson.... This guy was intelligent, sharp as a fukkin' razor, articulate and knew EXACTLY what he was doing, totally p!ssing off the right people in the process, ditto for Eminem (or if you want something more recent try the extremely confrontational Beth Ditto).... Pity Manson kind of shunned the limelight and his tunes suffered with later releases (last year's "Eat Me Drink Me" was mediocre and did nothing for me).... Katy Perry is just fukkin' CLUELESS... She's the American Lily Allen, annoying, yes, superior, no, they're both sh!te....

Considering how far she's gone off-the-boil now, I dont regard her opinion at all..... 80s/90s Madonna was a Pop genius..... "Madge" 2008 is a pale reflection, an echo....

 

Hot N Cold is riding on the success of I Kissed A Girl. I wonder where it would be had it been released first.

I highly doubt it would have done anything to how well it is doing now if it was lead single. If it wasnt for Kissed A Girl, shed be lucky to crack top 100 with anything.

 

I agree with what has been said, the whole fake lesiban thingis ridicolous and she is if anything even more annoying than the hideous Lily Allen.

I still think ''Thinking Of You'' and ''Hot N Cold'' would do well enough if it wasn't for ''I Kissed A Girl''. They're both decent catchy pop songs, probably not #01 huge hits but could've made Top 10/20 I think.

 

Saying that I do like her but 'Thinking Of You', 'Hot N Cold', 'I Kissed A Girl' and possibly 'Self Inflicted' are the only ones which would have commercial success.

^^ I think 'Waking Up In Vegas' would be a good choice of single too :wub:
